San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

I am applying for the Fall of 2009. I'm not sure if you know or not, but there is an info meeting on Friday, March 27th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Central Campus. Go to the Nursing page on the San Jac website and it'll tell you what building and room it will be in.

What option are you applying with?

Thanks. Us pre-nursing students have got to stick together! Ive known about the info meeting for about 2 weeks now. I am soooo excited. Porobably more excited than anyone should be about school. Its only because I want it so much. I am attempting to apply with both option A and B. I will be taking the ACT on April 4th. What about you?

Me too! I can't remember off the top of my head what option it is, but the ACT/SAT score option is what I'm banking on. Hopefully it works in my favor! I was reading some other San Jac posts to get an idea of how long they take to respond. One person applied in October and got her letter of acceptance in December. That means if we apply in April we should know by June! =)

Im hoping for the ACT also. Are you taking the ACT in april or have you already taken it??? Ive taken it once and i got a 22, I need a 25 or higher. Im so nervous. It might be july when we find out because the application period ends June 1st. The period for spring began Sept.1st and normally ends Nov.1st but because of the hurricane it was the 10th last semester. So October was the month after so im thinking we willl know by july. But that will be way too long.:p Have you finished all of your pre-reqs???

I already took the ACT. I got a 24 (one of the top ten in my graduating class) so hopefully that 24 is enough! Oh my... July?! That's going to be a LONG wait!

I have all my pre-reqs done except for 3. This semester I'm taking A&P II and Micro. So far I have an A in A&P II and a B in Micro! This summer (1st session) I'm taking Math (not sure if Algebra or 1333 yet).

:ancong!: I got a 22, the first time i took it. I need tot take it again. I keep hearing that the lowest ACT that they take is a 25, but anything we hear is nothing but Urban Legend. The things that current nursing students tell you are kinda frightning.:omy: Like, "you MUST have a 4.0 to get in!" Ive been told that is not true, by a counselor. What kinds of crazy things are you hearing?

Thanks! Yep, I've hear that you have to apply 5 times before they let you in even with all A's and B's! I hope not. haha

Hi, I was unable to find any links on san jac's website that told me what their options are for acceptance into the ADN program. PLEASE HELP

Hi. There are two options with which you may apply to San Jacs Adn program:

Option A: Sat and/or Act scores

Option B:Pre requisite GPA. (1 Anatomy course out of 2, 1 math course, and an english course are used to calculate your prereq GPA.)

There is an information meeting on Friday March 27th, in the health science building at San Jac central. Any information you want to know will probably be given there. I will definately be there. Have you taken any of the pre requisites yet?

Thanks for your reply, I have taken a ton of prereq's for other schools but NO MATH! Oh well..:scrying:..I am applying to Kingwood, Brazosport, and Houston Baptist, so hopefully I'll get into one of them. I am really trying to avoid college algebra :wink2:.

Hey guys! First post ever lol!

I am in my last semester in the ADN program at San Jacinto. I got in the first time using my ACT score which was a 27. A lot of the people that got in applied more than once and had As on all of their prerequisites. There are a lot of changes that are going to occur with the program. I believe they are planning on placing an entrance HESI type exam before you start the program. But as of right now I don't have any official information on that. There is a retention specialist named Amanda Warren that you may want to contact to get as much information about the program and the things they are changing.

Any questions you guys have I will try my best to answer.

Good Luck!!
