San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

I am interested in applying to san jac for spring 09. I believe the deadline is Nov. 1st? Anyway, I did all my prereqs at other schools. Will they still accept these? I was a little confused because their website reads as follows:

"Option B: Coursework earned at San Jacinto College. Option B applicants must complete at San Jacinto College ten semester hours as specified below earning a minimum of a B average on the three courses with no grade lower than a C."

Does this mean that the prereqs HAVE to be completed at San Jac? Any info would be very much appreciated.

I would suggest contacting the ADN office. You must have 10 credit hours at San Jacinto to apply under Option B. They will allow you to take a higher level course to earn credits. Example, if you already have Eng 1 and 2, you can take Tech Writing (which is part of the degree plan anyway so you'll have that class out of the way) I am going through the same situation but I am not applying until Fall 2010 :)

Thank you both for your replies. This is a little different from most other nursing programs I have researched. I know I'm very close to the deadline so hopefully I can get all my documentation ready on time. I just recently started looking into san jac as an option. Now I'm not really sure if I should even try for the Nov 1st deadline since there are quite a few things to do before even being considered, such as the background check and drug test. Any thoughts on this? On a side note, I also applied to TWU and I think that even if they do accept me, I will decline because it is just so expensive, especially when compared to a community college like San Jac.

Hi,

I applied for the Spring 2010. It would be great if anyone who applied under option a or knows others who have could give some insight into the selection for nursing students! I applied under option A. My SAT score is 1170. When applying under option A, do they take anything else into consideration? My overall GPA (94 hours at San Jac and UHCL) is 3.3.

Thanks for your help!

What do you guys recommend for the stethoscope...classic or lightweight???
