San Francisco State University (SFSU) BSN Program

Has anyone gotten a response from the SFSU BSN Program? I emailed someone a while ago and they said it would be rolling around sometime between April and May (how vague :zzzzz). I am just a nervous wreck as everyone else waiting for their ACCEPTANCES (positive thinking!). I think I'm going insane checking the website once or twice a day :banghead:. I've read somewhere around this forum that people have already been admitted or denied into the MSN program and the Accelerated BSN @ the Canada branch, but I applied at the main campus.

Thanks. Just wanted to know how long the program is. I am a transfer student from Pasadena City College. I am planning to fly to San Francisco to check out the school and what not. I got accepted for SFSU's BSN for Fall 2009.

CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE WHO GOT ACCEPTED FOR FALL AND SPRING =)

I got accepted to SFSU for fall 2009! =) I'm from Los Angeles and considering that school but SFSU's nursing website doesn't give enough info. =/ How long is the program and is this a top nursing school? I'm deciding between SFSU and Mount St. Mary's BSN program. If you guys could give me some info about SFSU's nursing, that would be GREAT!

personally, i'd go to sf state because of how much less expensive it is, because its not a private school. (hopefully you don't mean usf). but if money is not the issue its all good... the downside to sfsu is that its in san francisco, which doesn't have a nursing shortage at the moment, so it will be hard to work there after you are finished if thats what you plan to do. its a good program though, and they have a pretty good NCLEX pass rate, i think its in the high 80s. but its a nice school, very pretty. my brother goes there (not nursing) and really likes it.

so on my status site it says i got accepted conditionally to sfsu. BUT when i scrolled down to my major section it says "undeclared" -_- major psych out... does that mean i didn't get in the school of nursing?

Don't worry...until you get the letter, nothing's final. I had told everyone on this forum that I didn't get accepted because my major changed from "nursing" to my secondary major ("biology"), and that I even called the admissions office and they said I didn't get in. But 2 days later, I got a letter saying that I did get accepted. So don't fret. Just wait for the letter.

hm thats wierd i don't see a secondary major line on my screen. were you looking at the admission status page?

Yes, I'm looking at the admissions status. I meant on my primary major, it says "biology" instead of nursing.

The infor is really helpful ;) I will go to the admissions tomorrow to find out more about all the classes i need to graduate from SFSU :0)

I talked to nursing coordinator the other day. He told me that if you got accepted for Spring 2010, the nursing dept would change ur status in mid-fall from "undeclared" or what other secondary major your chose to nursing major.

So wait for the letter and the nursing orientation package in early June. ;)

Hey Kayellow! Yes I am going to be doing my segment III courses as well and one more GE that I have left to finish, so it's going to be 12 units for me! Is everyone that got in transfers? I'm an SFSU student but I took a lot of my prereqs at CSM

Hi Everyone,

I found out that I got accepted to Fall 09 SFSU nursing last Apr. 16. I was so happy but wanted to know who else got in the program. Fortunately a friend of mine recommended this site to me and Im glad she did cause I enjoyed reading about your guys experiences. Congratulations to everyone that got accepted!!!! Ill be coming in as transfer student in fall 09 so its a big change for me to go to a state university from a community college=) I would appreciate any advice you would be able to give.

congratulations to those who got in!!! i am on the waiting list, so does anyone of you know when sfsu will notify those on the waiting list if they are in or not? i'm tempted to call the nursing department, just to check my status on the waiting list. any thoughts? thanks.

I have 2 weeks from 4/20 to submit my intent to register, but I'm still waiting. I called the nursing coordinator and that didnt' really help. so what happens if i declare my intent to register but end up choosing another university?
