Hey All
I haven't yet seen a forum for this cohort yet and I wanted to start one! Applications are due soon and wanted to see how others are going along with the process and see if theres any advice or recommendations that anyone has. This could be with the application, interviews, pre-reqs, HESI, etc. I appreciate those who comment and add to the forum!
A little about me: originally from NYC moved out to Oakland in 2015. I worked in Urgent Care, and have volunteer work during Covid-19. Finishing up a few pre-reqs now and hopefully will have them done in time for the application due date Dec 1st. Let me know if there are any other questions for me, I am very interested to see the backgrounds of others who are also applying, its a stressful but exciting time for everyone! ?
P.S. if there is a forum for the Fall 2021 ELMSN program please link it!
I’m surprised the preliminary emails are even beginning this early, I applied last year for FNP and I don’t think I had any communication with the school until early February of last year. I ended up being waitlisted, but once interview invitations began, communication was pretty constant. But Stay hopeful everyone... I know this process is so nerve wrecking. I’m sure more communication will be happening soon!
Hi All,
I’m just wondering when you are referring to the verification email that some have gotten, are you referring to the verification email from NursingCas or an email directly for Samuel Merritt?
I also applied to the BSN program and I have gotten an SMU email, providing me with the decision timeline. I have not gotten any SMU communication regarding the FNP program ?
My NursingCas application status does say verified. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will receive some sort of SMU email soon ?
good luck everyone!

My nursingCAS one is verified, but I also received a separate email from Samuel Merritt! The email from them just says that they completed the preliminary review for my app. It also mentions that email is the official method of communication and to refrain from calling the admission office because it slows the application review timeline.
The emails seem random but I guess if it makes you antsy and you'd like to follow up, email is the best way! I've emailed admissions before and they're pretty quick to respond ?

Hey @Carda_S I think I may have been the only person in the "verification situation" boat, and that was strictly a NursingCas situation, but so far in my experience, the NursingCas didn't tell me my application wasn't verified, so Samuel Merritt told me. I assume this was as they were trying to go through or check my application for preliminary review. I ended up having to work with the NursingCas to fix it and so far it has been completed.
I think from past application timelines we may get an email regarding our application, but from past cohorts they don't hear back about interviews until late Jan/early Feb? (this is for the FNP track, not sure about the CM track)
Im really nervous and curious on how the interviews are going to go. I saw they updated their website to include some tips and hints. It still says that interviews can be on campus, but also mentions that virtual interviews are a new possibility. Not sure how that would work for the FNP interviews because I know those tend to be group interviews which may be harder to navigate virtually, but I read in earlier forums that the CM interview is 1-on-1 which virtual would be much easier to accommodate.
Hi everyone,
I still haven't received the confirmation that they completed the preliminary review for my application and I applied for the FNP track. Is anyone else in the same boat as me or should I be worried? I do not want to email them unless I really have to so I won't be bothering them. My app is verified on NursingCas though. thanks in advance

Yea I actually emailed them today I hope it wasn’t too much of a bother but I also haven’t received my prelim email. I was getting a bit anxious too it’s nice to know I’m not alone. I can write up what they say when they get back to me but if anyone else has any info that would be great too! Mine was also verified on nursingcas and I submitted it a week before the deadline.

Hi All!
I applied for the CM track and received the email about preliminary review on 12/2/2020. It seemed like such a quick process to me, but it might be because my NursingCAS app saved everything from the last app I submitted for the FNP track. Good luck to us all!!
