Samuel Merritt University ELMSN Fall 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey All

I haven't yet seen a forum for this cohort yet and I wanted to start one! Applications are due soon and wanted to see how others are going along with the process and see if theres any advice or recommendations that anyone has. This could be with the application, interviews, pre-reqs, HESI, etc. I appreciate those who comment and add to the forum!

A little about me: originally from NYC moved out to Oakland in 2015. I worked in Urgent Care, and have volunteer work during Covid-19. Finishing up a few pre-reqs now and hopefully will have them done in time for the application due date Dec 1st. Let me know if there are any other questions for me, I am very interested to see the backgrounds of others who are also applying, its a stressful but exciting time for everyone! ?

P.S. if there is a forum for the Fall 2021 ELMSN program please link it!

I emailed Anne Seed to see if there was any movement on the waitlist for the elmsn-cm program, but no changes so far.

Hi friends!

I was just accepted off of the waitlist. I was spot #5.

WOW congrats!! I was number 8 so I'm probably number #3. I already accepted their ABSN program so I don't know how that would work out if I got in! lmao kind of hoping they don't complicate my life like that.

My friend just gave up her spot this weekend so I think that's why a spot opened up for the Oakland campus.

Just got off the waitlist! I was wondering, how do we access financial aid information? I cannot seem to find my financial aid package.

If this is anything like the ABSN program, they might have to send you your login information. Once you have that you can login to you MY SMU and find what you need.

Anyways, what number were you on the waitlist?

Does anyone know if people that are on the elmsn cm waitlist have been contacted yet?

Hello, not sure if this is the right thread but I havent found one for the MSN-FNP program. Is this the same thread?

Hi! This particular thread is for the ELMSN cohort that starts in September. You're welcome to join and chat with us here! ?, but unfortunately I don't think you would find MSN-FNP classmates in this thread.

Hi everyone!

Tell me why I had no idea these types of forums exist?? I have been reading all of your posts and comments from the very beginning and it brings me back to how I was during the application process as well. So nerve racking! I’m Alejandra ? ? I applied to the ELMSN 2020 program and thank God I was accepted. But that was when COVID started and unfortunately I didn’t have any money and my parents couldn’t afford the tuition as well. I have DACA and I’m not a us citizen so I don’t qualify for any financial aid or federal loans. That just leaves me with scholarships and our savings. Because of this we decided to defer to fall 2021, thank God I was able to get a job as a nanny when the pandemic started and I have been working for the same family for over a year now and I have been able to save to pay for part of my tuition. I have been applying to scholarship like crazy and I’m hoping in God that I will be getting some help soon! I will be quitting my nanny job in august since we start the program in September and I cannot be anymore excited to meet all of you. I hope that we have a great time in school, despite all the mental breakdowns, and I just know it will all be worth it in the end!

Hi! If you can dm me, I have so many questions! How was your interview? how do you enjoy the school so far?

Were the times below the only options for the interviews? I am trying to get a better count of estimate of candidates that got interviewed?
