I haven't yet seen a forum for this cohort yet and I wanted to start one! Applications are due soon and wanted to see how others are going along with the process and see if theres any advice or recommendations that anyone has. This could be with the application, interviews, pre-reqs, HESI, etc. I appreciate those who comment and add to the forum!
A little about me: originally from NYC moved out to Oakland in 2015. I worked in Urgent Care, and have volunteer work during Covid-19. Finishing up a few pre-reqs now and hopefully will have them done in time for the application due date Dec 1st. Let me know if there are any other questions for me, I am very interested to see the backgrounds of others who are also applying, its a stressful but exciting time for everyone! ?

Does anyone happen to know what the application timeline is looking like? ? I've seen in past forums that we'd be hearing about interviews late January/February.
When I talked to a counselor they said 1.5-2months after the deadline is when they start emailing about interviews so I’m thinking maybe we won’t hear anything for a few more weeks.
Yea I actually emailed them today I hope it wasn’t too much of a bother but I also haven’t received my prelim email. I was getting a bit anxious too it’s nice to know I’m not alone. I can write up what they say when they get back to me but if anyone else has any info that would be great too! Mine was also verified on nursingcas and I submitted it a week before the deadline.

Haha, I reached out to them as well (last week) and I haven’t heard back from the SMU yet. It seems like that they are receiving a fair amount of timeline questions. I only have gotten my NursingCas verification as well, so I guess it is comforting that almost none of us have heard from the school ?

They got back to me yesterday and it just looks like they are still in the middle of reviewing applications. They said that we should hear something from them either that our application is going to faculty review or if there is something missing from the application. Our applications are in a queue and it's taking time to go through everyone's app. I think I said this earlier but I'm pretty sure there was a surge of new applicants this year in a lot of schools so that's a possible explanation as to why it is taking a minute. They didn't give me a timeline but I'm not going to keep bothering them about it so I don't slow them down with emails.
Hi everyone I just wanted to share that I got my preliminary review email this morning. I also had trouble getting my nursingcas app verified. But I called this morning and the rep I spoke to mentioned it usually takes up to 2 weeks for your app to get verified. I was getting a little worried and anxious because SMU had sent me an email last week stating to please work with nursingcas to get the app verified as soon as possible in order for them to review. I was surprised but thankful that nursingcas was able to take care of it today and SMU sent the preliminary review email today too.

eek Im a bit worried now. I had the same verification issue, but I have yet to receive a preliminary review email. Hopefully I get it soon ?

Holy moly, I just got the preliminary email 30 mins ago. Looking at last years timeline, this email should still be coming. I think I was hella concerned because of the verification situation and how that affected everything and when they look at my application. But these emails should still be coming out @icedmatchalatte hopefully you get yours as soon as this week!

for the ones who have received an email, is the email just stating that the school has verified your application or does it outline a timeline and next steps in the process?
