Hey everyone,
I know this is early, but the application period for the fall Sacramento and San Mateo cohort will soon be here! This might be the first thread. Anyway, application deadline isn't until April, but if people could post their past and current GPA's and their HESI test scores so I can get idea of what the pool of applicants is like. It is so hard to tell what a good application is for every application period.
My last 60 units GPA 3.9
Science GPA 3.1 (Maybe 3.5 if I can submit my new chemistry class that ends May 4th -- hopefully with a grade A in May).
HESI scores -- taking in February and in March -- if I have to retake it.
Working as an EMT for 7 months.
No volunteer experience.
I haven't received an email about passing prelims either. I applied 3/17, and my transcripts and recommendations were received in the system about a couple of weeks or so before that so I don't think that's the reason. From reading some past forums, it seems like emails are sent out almost randomly (or at least not all at once). Even though I'm anxious because I haven't gotten the email yet, I don't think it's any indication of who is going to be selected for admission so anyone in the same boat should try not to worry!! :)
Hi guys I think the preliminary evaluation is just whether you've met the prerequisites and GPA scores needed to apply. After this review, they can go on to evaluate the applications more in depth such as our experiences, personal statements, backgrounds, etc (holistically). I believe that most of us will pass the preliminary evaluation since it's just a basic checklist of whether you've met minimum scores & numbers to be considered. Why some people are receiving it later, I have no idea, but Im sure its nothing to worry about :)
I sure hope so, but it still makes me nervous. I applied March 2nd and haven't received anything other than a automated email that they have received my application and will continue to update us randomly. The waiting period for nursing schools is so nerve racking!!!! I guess we are all in the same boat and it's so nice to be able to bounce theories around with you all.
Hi everyone.
I got an email 2 days after I submitted that my application was received, but I did not get anything about preliminary steps. I know it might be just a "you met all basic pre-reqs", but it still makes me nervous that not everyone got it. This waiting game is no joke! So anxious!

Hey everyone! I applied for the fall start @ San Mateo as well. I haven't received an email about passing the preliminary round, and also submitted 3/30. Yikes! Wonder if only those who are being considered will receive that email?
