do u have an idea how much does a renal/dialysis nurse usually get?...in IL? thanks...
I interviewed at Davita today south of atlanta. Was offered $25.50, I have 10 yrs experience as an RN, 1 yr critical care, but no hemodialysis experience.
I hate to go backwards as currently I make just over $26/h, but this is in my town, and they said that I can go to the other local centers to pick up overtime...
I met someone who has been with Davita for years, and he said they start at $28.50/hour.....The nurse that interviewed me said that may be the starting salary in downtown atlanta....
any thoughts?
thank you!
I had to take a pay cut (basically, the same hourly pay I made with a large national dialysis company two years ago - which I had to fight for as the hospital initially did not even want to match that!) to work at a local hospital in the inpatient/acute dialysis unit. But it is so worth it, I don't think I could go back to clinic dialysis nursing.
Hospital nursing in my area does not pay well*, outpatient clinics usually pay $2-3/hr more to attract staff (but the workload is much more), and the only way to make more $ is to work on a premium plan (e.g., weekend or float hospital nursing in critical care or med/surg).

$16.- $20./hr for dialysis RNs in my area, but there are no jobs, so I'm a traveler.
