Specialties Urology

do u have an idea how much does a renal/dialysis nurse usually get?...in IL? thanks...

That does not seem right for a city the size of Nashville. Dialysis is a specialty field so I think no matter where you live you should get specialty pay. I have a diverse nursing back ground that includes agency work and I can assure you a nurse without dialysis experience could not hit the floor running. I can go to any ER, Med-Surg, Pedi, Rehab, Ortho, or Geriatric Care and operate on little to no training after being oriented to the facility. This was not at all true when I came to Dialysis. I'm not trying to scare anyone away but it is a specialty and I think the rate of pay should reflect as much. I can't believe the pay rates I have been reading. I have not been doing this for very long but I plan on staying in the dialysis field. I really love it!! No one likes feeling underpaid or unappreciated.

I can't believe some of the pay rates I am reading here.

They will get you for what you are willing to settle for. At some of these rates, I'd rather be a Wal Mart greeter.

For those in the midwest and east...those are beginning salaries like I was seeing 11 years ago out west.

Hope RN's wise up, and realize just how much money you are making the company (DavitaFresenius et al...).

My God. That's sweat shop labor costs for what you guys are responsible for.
