Sacramento State Spring 2022

Published

Hi everyone- I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have become accustomed to living on the edge of our seats, who would like some moral support, and who applied/ will apply for Sac States BSN program for Spring 2022. Anyone know the point cutoff for the last class? Did they end up taking 80 students? How many points do you have?

I'm in the top 10 of the waitlist with 72 points.

Didn't have a 4.0 unadjusted, but got 96 on the TEAS. No repeats.

Do you mind if I ask what number you are on the WL?

Thanks for sharing your info! I have 72 points and am waitlist #5 ? Here are my scores:

-4.0 non-adjusted

-93.3 TEAS

-no omits

-first generation

-healthcare experience

The extra points section really helps people out, I’m bummed I didn’t qualify for more because I feel like my other stats are really strong.

The tiebreakers are

1. Unadjusted GPA

2. #repeats

3. TEAS score

4. Military experience

2 years ago you would have got accepted right away, no question! I had a friend who entered Sac State's program ~3  years ago with a 67. It's crazy how things change. Good luck! I think Spring last year, the waitlist got past #8, and I think for Fall 2021, the waitlist got to at least #6.

Also, if they're really using those tie-breakers, then I'm not sure what happened, because a lot of people have a 4.0 non-adjusted with no omits. And I repeated like, 4 classes.

I saw the big jump in the cutoff points! It was consistently around 67 for a long time! Once Covid hit that all changed. I think it’s just due to schools not accepting applications for a while so maybe the cutoff will go back down. You got in right? Do you mind sharing your point breakdown?

I do hope it dips back down, even down to 70 would be reasonable.

Yes, I got in with 73! I am still so shocked I was not waitlisted. My point breakdown is on the previous page but some more details...

  • Non-adjusted GPA: 4.0 (40 points):
    • with 2 omits and 2 repeats (technically repeated 4 courses but one could not be taken since it was a third attempt, and the other did not qualify as a repeat because I withdrew during Covid then re-enrolled later)
  • TEAS Score: 92.7 (23 points):
    • first attempt with 1.5 weeks of studying; I scored lower with my second attempt
  • Language Proficiency (3 points)
  • Local High School (4 points)
  • Health-Related Experience-Volunteer (3 points):
    • 50 hours each from two different agencies

I was told the cutoff was 73 before everyone’s points were verified. Person that ranked 81 also had 73 points, then 82-100 had 72 points.

That sounds about right. That's why I'm trying to figure out who I tied with because my point profile isn't that great. LOL! Crossing my fingers they down to your # on the waitlist ?

Congratulations to everyone!  Fall 2021 got to at least #28 on the waitlist. Spring 2021 only got to #6. I think with so many schools opening up more people are passing up on acceptances. Get ready to hit the ground running January 24th!  Don’t sleep on all the onboarding stuff.

Has anyone registered for transfer orientation because I'm not sure if I have to change my major from Health Sciences to Nursing when I register?

Just double checking the onboarding I stuff isn’t out yet is it? I’ve done the intent to Enroll & clinical forms. Still need to email re registering for orientation & will make a Dr apt when I get back from thanksgiving vacation. Anything I’m missing right now?

Hey guys, I'm #5 on the wl and hoping I get in!! I'd like to prepare just in case. For those of you that got in, do you have to get a full physical with doctors clearance in addition to all the immunizations that are required? Also, do you have to do a drug test/background test? If someone could send me this info I'd really appreciate it.

So far they haven't really told us much, they said the onboarding info will be available when they add us to the Canvas page (not sure when). They just said to schedule a physical with your doctor now/as soon as possible to prevent getting an appointment that's too late
