  1. Hi, if the 80th unverified person has 73 points, that means that anybody who is verified with 74 points or higher would be offered a seat. There may be, for example, 30 applicants with 73 points. But, by the time they ranked according to score only 10 of those 30 applicants may be within the top 80. Good Luck to everyone! (Current 4th sem) Safer bet to say 74 and above are accepted. It doesn't guarantee that everybody with 73 points fell within the top 80. Good Luck!
  2. Looks like they’ve started. At #3 now
  3. CNSA meeting happening now. Great way to get your feet wet. Zoom
  4. They will ask you if you want to participate and then will match you with a mentor who will reach out to you Checkout the meeting if you’re not busy! Zoom ID In pic
  5. No apparel requirement. This is just for your enjoyment! I actually just ordered my first sweatshirt today. I did also buy a polo shirt at the beginning of the semester which I have worn once to clinical prep.
  6. They seem to be more lenient regarding lab shoes, and they don't have to be wipeable or anything like that. They also don't have to be new, so if you already have some that will meet requirements, wear those. But you will spend full days doing lab, so make sure you find them comfortable to wear for long hours. In clinicals I wear all-white Cloves. They are easily wipeable, comfortable, and easy on/off.
  7. They don't want us wearing the shoes from the hospital into school
  8. This is copy/pasted directly from our pre-entry checklist: Shoes  Go shopping for your white or black, non-slip, closed-toe, closed-heel shoes.  A small amount of color other than white or black is acceptable (such as a logo).  Remember you will be on your feet for 8-12 hour shifts, so purchase something comfortable.  Also keep in mind your shoes may be exposed to bodily fluids and other substances, so a shoe that will easily wipe clean is ideal.  Canvas tennis shoes are not acceptable.
  9. Hi, don't order the Figs. You will have a limited list of options from a specific website you will order from. I believe there are two top options, three bottom options (one is a skirt) for women. They take a while to be embroidered and delivered so order as soon as you get the info. You will also need two pairs of all white or all black shoes (one for lab, and one for clinicals). I didn't realize that and only bought one pair, so I had to go out and get another. 10. Congratulations to everybody accepted to Sac State's program! I'm currently in 1st semester and the CNSA (Nursing Student Association) just announced an apparel sale which will run until December 5th. The items won't be here in time for Christmas, but hopefully before the start of next semester. If you're looking for some apparel (not uniforms, you buy those from a specific website with a specific group ID) I'd recommend ordering now, to have it delivered to you ASAP. If you wait until another apparel sale after the start of the semester it may be a while before you get it. This is the first time they've done an apparel sale where the items are ordered and shipped directly to the students. Here is the link to order in case you haven't already received the info: https://stores.kotisdesign.com/ky1ju7wj6n/products?fbclid=IwAR0xMfAIpUQBhb87mn3mpuGhjpB1C44W6P4amzSO2lcSXp_J2ofPNIS4L0w
  11. Congratulations to everyone! Fall 2021 got to at least #28 on the waitlist. Spring 2021 only got to #6. I think with so many schools opening up more people are passing up on acceptances. Get ready to hit the ground running January 24th! Don’t sleep on all the onboarding stuff.
  12. Correction: Even groups have Fridays off. You have summers off from classes but volunteer/healthcare work is highly encouraged.
  13. Hi! It all depends on which section you’re put in. If you’re an odd group you will be 5 days a week from weeks 8-16. We have had several Tuesdays/Wednesdays off up until this point but that will change soon and we will have to go to our clinical sites to prep for our clinical days. If you’re put into an odd section then you will be 4 days a week with Fridays off. Be sure not to mistake that as having “Fridays off” because there is A LOT of school work/asynchronous work to be done. Even with all the random Tuesdays/Wednesdays I’ve had off, I haven’t been able to work up until this point because of the workload. At the mandatory orientation, the professors told us if we have to work, don’t work more than 10 hours a week (or else that is where they see students struggle). This is a FULL TIME JOB. It is exhausting and there is no such thing as being caught up with the work. Be ready, have your ducks in a row, and have a strong support system.
  14. Hi, just started last week. I heard some people got in off the waitlist with 72 points. I believe they ended up taking almost 30 people from the waitlist. We have 80 students in our cohort. Good Luck to you!
