So i went to take the test at 2pm today. I went in there with confidence that I WILL pass this test. I took it in an hour and 20 minutes and when I hit 75 the BLUE SCREEN came up. I am SCARED! I feel as though I needed more questions to prove myself. I had about 10 Med's, 6-7 SATA, 2 med calcs. I mean i felt as though the questions were easy. I mainly studied KAPLAN and I thought Kaplan questions were way harder. I had like no curve balls like whatsoever except for meds but the questions about diseases were diseases I actually knew. When I left I didnt feel like I failed but I do not know if i def passed either. It can go either way, i either did really good or extremely bad! I know I got some right, but I feel as though the questions were extremely easy and that worries me. LIke did it shut off because I wasnt getting any questions right? Great, these 2 days are going to be HELL!! I will just keep praying these next 2 days until then I am crackin open alot and I mean alot of BEER!
I can give you some of Florida's standpoint....
I cut off at 95, and sadly failed.......BUT.......I think I set the bar as the only failing person in my class so far. I had some extenuating circumstances too. Everyone else in my class has passed at 75. They said they had the same thing. They had alot of SATA. They also had drug calcs which they have heard is a higher ended question. They also had prioritization. I had 1 SATA, prior., and NO drug calcs, so I think I was answering on the easier, and hense, not passing side. My CAT score showed near passing except for drugs (which at least in my program we barely had ANY drugs).
It sounds like you have nothing to worry about. Just try to keep yourself busy. Work on projects you haven't gotten to because you were studying. There is nothing you can do about the test once that screen goes blank, so there is no point in stressing now. What's done is done, and you can just hope for the best. It sounds like you will be celebrating in no time!!
I think, based on experience, if you had a few number of questions 75-85 and you thought they were hard (like medicine you never heard of). You were probably doing well to get those difficult questions and 75 was all they needed from you to determine that. I feel like that is what happened to me. Just my two cents.
Also, as the sticky post says, if you pass or fail, you typically get about 50% correct, it is based on how difficult your questions were.
i agree with your comments, my classmates thus far that took the test have all passed thus far, including alot of them at just 75 questions, a few even went to 265 but still passed. i really found kaplan to be very helpful, i sure pray for good news in 48hrs. does anyone know if test results post on saturday(since its not a business day)?
best wishes to everyone
Thanks for everyone's input. I did find out today that I passed. .. I don't know what happened but all I know is that I must've done something right! Woohoo!
.. I hope to hear good news from everyone because I know first-hand that the wait is DREADFUL.. I never knew it was that bad until it was me.
does anyone know if test results post on saturday(since its not a business day)?
yes, they do. i had posted this exact question on another thread after several classmates/friends had taken their test on a th. they do indeed post on saturdays and even did last saturday after the 4th of july! someone who took it on the 2nd was afraid they might have to wait until monday but not so!
gl!!
Hi everyone. Well, it took me an hour and 5 minutes to answer 75 questions. SOOOOOOO many teaching about med questions. I feel really bad about it. The lady at the desk was all nice when I first walked in, and REALLLY quiet when I left after taking the test. The girl sitting next to me cried all the way through. With the earplugs in, I could hear my heartbeat; with them out I heard her crying. I have a really bad feeling about it. I guess I have to wait until Monday to get my results?
I finished this morning with 75 questions and I am not feeling too good either, but I think it's rare for anyone to walk out of the test feeling good. There were a lot of medication teaching questions and I had at least 5 SATAs in a row, plus about four more thrown in later.
I've heard that results are even posted on Sundays - true??
