75?'s...SCARED
I'm in the same boat. Took mine this morning and got around 86 questions. I however felt the exam was horrible! I had meds I'd never heard of and one rather complicated medication question. Then I only got 2-3 select all questions. I am certain that YOU passed! I have several friends that reported the same as you and they all passed. Good luck!

Who passed the NCLEX using only the SAUNDERS book?
Thanks! I test tomorrow. Soooo nervous

Linfield Orientation Exam?
In addition, you'll be taking HESI exams throughout the program. They get harder as you go because you'll learn more and more nursing skills and materials. Eventually HESI exams are factored into your grade for certain classes. And there is one long final HESI exit exam you'll take right before graduation. Good luck!

New Grad salaries in portland?
Blacksea pebble... If you look at national statistics, most parts of the country are experiencing nursing shortages. Portland does not have a nursing shortage at the moment because we have so many schools churning out new grads. Being "saturated" doesn't mean you can't find a job just that there aren't as many openings as you find in California or Texas. Hope this helps clarify.

best way to research jobs in OR?
Like the poster above said, check out the individual hospitals for job openings. Most of them post all openings online or just contact the RN recruiters for each facility you want to work with. Hope this helps!

Who passed the NCLEX using only the SAUNDERS book?
Okan, roughly how many practice questions did you do? Thanks!

Who passed the NCLEX using only the SAUNDERS book?
4500 questions seems a little excessive to me but I guess doing more can't hurt! All of my friends took the 3 day prep course and did roughly 1000 practice questions. They have all passed, so far. The 3day prep course I took is quite thorough. (The instructor uses kinesthetic learning which is so fantastic! We went through the entire Saunders book, highlight certain parts of the book and put stars next to everything we're supposed to memorize. The instructor told us to read through what we've highlited 2 times, then memorize everything she told us to put a star next to (specific lab values, specific drugs, and specific diseases), then we're supposed to do 1000 test questions from the back of the book and the CD. She has a 98% pass rate so here's hoping I'm part of the 98%! One thing she really stressed was learning a lot about corticosteriods, Addison's, Cushing's and Hypo/hyperthyroidism which we really didn't study in RN school (except for DM and insulin), and everyone I've talked to says they are glad she covered that material!

me and most of my friends are only using Saunders. i took a 3 day review course that covers all the most important info in the book. we were also told to do 1000 test questions from the book/CD prior to sitting for NCLEX. i test on july 8th! :imbar

Is this true about Linfield?
another thing is you have to choose either a peds or labor/del rotation, you can't do both.

OHSU or Linfield
Well congrats to you! Holy cow, you were accepted to 3 schools??? You must have a gold plated resume. I have friends with straight A's who've applied 3 times and never been accepted anywhere yet! Anyways, I just graduated from Linfield and if I could do it over again I would go to OHSU simply because the tuition is so much more reasonable. It will take me at least 6 years to pay off my loans of over 60k from Linfield. Granted, I didn't work while in RN school and racked up a lot of loan debt. But linfield is WAY overpriced. If money isn't an issue, Linfield is a great program. PS - It's great to be a nurse, I work full time in a clinic 4 10hr shifts M-F weekdays only and am making just under 60k/yr!!! Good luck!!! Portland and New Grads
I meant the total for Oregon not just PDX, sorry for the confusion

Portland and New Grads
Yes Portland is saturated. There are an expected 1500 grads this spring. I just got a job at an outpatient clinic and I am convinced it was due to my previous healthcare experience and the fact that the person interviewing me is a graduate from my school! Otherwise I'd try a recruiting company and post your resume on jobdango.com. Good luck! Missypoo

Best/Worst Places to do Clinical in Portland
My best experience is L&D at Good Sam. The nurses are busy and you do feel in the way sometimes but if you step up and ask questions they will explain things to you and seem to like having extra hands to help.
