  1. How do you know what band you fall in? This from an American Nurse considering a major life change (but nervous about a severe pay cut).
  2. According to the NMC PDF article for nurses trained outside of the EU: The applicant must have completed either: • a three-year (or equivalent) pre-registration children's nursing training programme, or • a 12-month post-registration children's nursing training programme after completing a general nursing programme that meets our requirements I have worked for 15 years as a neonatal RN, in an NICU for 12 of those years. I took a BSN program in nursing but we don't have specialty training programs such as they describe. Does this mean that I will have to apply as an adult RN? I haven't cared for adults since nursing school, and am certainly not up on the latest research. I think that would just be dangerous. Not to mention the fact that I probably could not pass their exams. Am I misunderstanding something?
  3. I currently work in CA & have been trying to get a feel for the job market in either Salem, or Portland or parts between. I wrote the BRN in Oregon & was told they had links to publications that provided job advertisements from area hospitals, but I could find no such links. So I'm seeking out help here. In California we have several free publications that all RNs receive through the mail that have articles, CE opportunities & job advertisements, I'm sure there must be something similar in OR if anyone would be willing to share. :) If it is of any help I am an NICU nurse with over 5 years experience as charge nurse, transport team & am PICC certified. Thanks so much, Renee
  4. Well, it seems my husband is dead set on returning to the Phoenix area after about 15 years being back in SoCal. I've been working in a lvl III NICU here for 3 years now and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for good NICUs in the Phoenix area? Thanks for any replies... Renee
  5. keep in mind that the salary you make in each state will vary based upon the cost of living. Here in Southern California a new grad starts at $19 plus shift diff.
