Northshore Evanston Hospital Parking
I am from Florida and recently accepted an RN position at Northshore Evanston Hospital. I have one question. Is it hard to find staff parking there? I am in the process of looking for apartments, and I am thinking about finding a place with accessible public transportation in order to get there if parking is horrible. Please let me know.

What Chicago Area Hospitals are hiring at the moment?
Hello, I'm a Neuro ICU nurse interested in moving to Chicago this fall. I have applied at Rush Hospital Neuro ICU 2 weeks ago, but unfortunately nobody has called me for an interview. Also, I am having a tough time contacting Rush HR. Are there hospitals in the Chicago area or near suburbs hiring right now? If so, where would you recommend me applying? So far, I have noticed that UofC, Resurrection Health System, Advocate Health System are hiring. BTW, Do you know when Loyola Hospital will start hiring again?

Does the Illinois BON accept NURSYS online verification?
I am a Florida RN in the process of applying for a Illinois RN license by endorsement. I have contacted the Florida BON to have them fill out the CT-NUR Form (Verification of Licensure). The FL BON directed me to the Nursys Online Verification site because they will not fill out the CT NUR form. Will the Nursys Verification be accepted by the Illinois BON in place of the CT NUR form?

What are good hospitals in the North Side of Chicago?
Hello, I am currently an RN in Florida and is planning to move to Chicago in August. What are some good hospitals near the North side of Chicago (niles, park ridge, glenview, morton grove, skokie)? I work at a teaching hospital and magnet hospital now and prefer to apply in a place like or similar to it.

I want to move to Chicago!!!!
Hello everyone! I'm an RN with a ASN degree who currently works at Shands at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL. I want to try something new and it seems like Chicago is the right city for me. I'm planning to move to the north side of Chicago in August of 2009. What are some good hospitals near that area? I would prefer to work in a magnet and/or teaching hospital just like the place I work in now. Also, is it difficult for an ADN nurse like me to find a job there? How soon should I apply? Thanks!

Do Chicago Hospitals only hire BSN RNs?
I am an RN with an Associate Degree in Nursing and am thinking about moving to Chicago in the fall. I've been looking at job openings and it seems like most of the hospitals prefer BSN grads. Do Chicago hospitals (Loyola, UofC, etc) hire RNs with an Associate Degree in Nursing? I'm curious. Thanks!

Saunders Q & A Review : outdated?
I have used Saunders Q&A the most out of all my NCLEX review books and passed. I did 100 questions on the CD per day and focused on my weak areas. It's definitely a good buy. Good luck with studying!

Verifying identity of sedated patient's family
I work in the Neuro ICU where a lot of patients are heavily sedated. During my shift, a lot of people come in and out of the patient's room saying that they're family. How do I make sure that they are if a patient can't verify that?
