I start on the 29th. We have something called the PENI institute (pre nursing institute). I am sure the equivalent on an orientation. That starts on the 20th for 3 days. I am so excited I can barely sleep. I was pre-approved back in December so it has been a long wait.

I start on August 20th, also!!! My orientation will be on Aug. 15th, I'm taking a skills test on the 16th. We also do something called a student-to-student gathering where you can buy tshirts and sweaters, and you can also speak w/ upperclassmen to get an overview of what's to come...thats happening on the 8th...I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!:balloons:

I too start on Aug. 20 at 9 am. On Aug. 15 I have orientation from 9-3pm. We will get our name badges and also get or syllabus together. Our books for the first year (two semesters) will be about 1400.00 but I guess thats a deal if its for all year. It seem to be coming quickly now. I am just studing this book called "test taking techniques for beginning nursing students.

Fasten your seat belts people your in for a fast ride!!!! NO all kidding aside congrats to you all, its an exciting thing. I know the feelings your going through, just last year i was in your position. Its gonna go so fast, the first year go by so quick

well gottagetin,

you just get to have some extra time to see all of our posts on here about how much we have to learn, how many tests a day we will be having and how many of us will already be stessed!! lol!!

i am going to get my badges and books on tuesday, then on saturday, we are having a meet and greet and be able to buy our scrubs and supplies at 20% off. that sound good, considering i will be spending about $1000.00 just on books i'm sure the bookstore will still be making tons of money though, since scrubs are $24.95 for the top and the same for the bottom. i will be getting 3 sets, so between those and all the patches and stuff, it will be over $200 just for uniforms. who knows, i may go ahead and get 5 sets so i can wear them every day. that way, i don't have to worry about having to decide on what to wear each day!!

Finally, I'm starting the program!

My semester starts August 20th, but my schedule runs W-Th-F so I will start the 22nd. My program is in turmoil and despite being told I would be registered by the department and get my book/supplies list, it hasn't happened yet, so I'm edgy. We have what they are calling a "boot camp" August 15th to determine if we have basic computer skills and have a PDA. I'm hoping I will get more info, but since clinicals don't start until October, if I get a book list I will be happy. I can't wait to be in school again; good luck everyone!

I'm with you GottaGetIn, my classes start September 4th. I wish that my orientation would be sooner. I don't think my orientation is until August 23. I am ready to find out what I need. I have already purchased my uniform, steth and pen light, but other than that I know I am going to have a lot more to buy.
