OK, had my first two Chemistry classes this week. Lecture on Tuesday and lecture/lab tonight. We're getting into conversions next week and I'm not looking forward to it! Anyone else have class this week?

I'm re-taking Gen. Chem. My previous credits are "too old" for my program to accept. It's been 20 years, so I've had to study like mad to refresh my brain on the periodic table and the chemical symbols. I have a hard time remembering the charge for certain ions. I need to make some flash cards this weekend!
I have a great prof, so I'm glad the class is enjoyable. My lab prof is kind of quirky, but she has clear-cut expectations and is easy to approach & ask questions. We have to write our own procedures and do a pre-lab quiz each week.

My class is on chap. 3 already. I did the conversions and was so scared looking at the book...now I realize it is so easy! I am thrilled I am getting it! Ive already had to do a Power point presentation on carbohydrates and I was in the back of the book...and I realized reading it that it is do-able! I am feeling so much better. I only hope it continues!!! Chapter 3 is very simple...a review of my anatomy chap. 2. So far so good. Ive already had 2 quizzes. My lab is going good...I had some problems with the way he explained how many place values you have to give the answer in when you are measuring in mL. (estimated value)

My General Chem class starts in March!
Well went to my third Chemistry class tonight and we have a quiz on Thursday. I really don't know what/how to study for this class. The professor seems to be all over the place. We went over some conversions and the scientific method. Oh and scientific notation. Guess its back to the lecture powerpoint.

Just some advice: I took my chem class this past Fall and passed. The book that helped me out the most was Chemistry for Dummies. I got it for around $11 on Amazon! I recommend it to anyone who is new to chemistry, as I was! Good luck!

I'm taking Gen Chem this semester too. I've made flash cards from the lecture and I go over them. I'm esctatic that I remember the density equations and some of the english to metric values. It's been 16 years since the last time I took chemistry. I'm still a bit terrified. First lab will be this week. Yikes!
I'm proud of myself. I made a B on the first lab assignment. I thought that it would be lower than that since I didn't understand the water displacement portion at first. I will be aiming for A's on the remainder 12 lab assignments lol
