Roll call Gen. Chemistry 2013...

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

OK, had my first two Chemistry classes this week. Lecture on Tuesday and lecture/lab tonight. We're getting into conversions next week and I'm not looking forward to it! Anyone else have class this week?

I had my first lecture last night, I'm nervous because I don't remember a lot of it from when I took it 10 years ago! So tonight I'm talking the time to read my book, try to understand the conversions, and become familiar with the formulas. It's going to be tough, but I'm sure I can do it if I work hard enough.

I'm taking Chemistry too! I am official enrolled after being on the waitlist..-praise God! I'm so excited to be on my way to becoming a nursing student. So far I'm really liking this class. My teacher's teaching style is great!

I had my first quiz tonight and let's just say I WAY over-prepared. I went and outlined my lecture notes and memorized conversions and the quiz only had 3 questions on it! lol Oh well. But I did get in a hurry and I think I forgot to put the unit after my answer on the equations...dang it. I seriously think I have test anxiety. My heart starts beating fast and I go blank. I know I know the material but when I get there I lose all confidence and think I'm going to miss something and then I do. I need to go in knowing I know the material and be more confident.

I had my first chemistry lecture tonight! I LOVE the professor! He's super nice, funny, and you can tell that he wants people to pass the class. He gave us tons of tricks and I am super relieved! First lab tomorrow night!

I had my first lecture tonight!! I have put off nursing school/Pre-reqs for 7 years and am more than ready to go. My chem professor seems great. Picture Morgan Freeman in a lab coat...yeah, that's my prof! Good luck to us all!

Math quiz in chemistry tonight. 25 minutes for 30 questions is not enough time for me when there are no calculators allowed. I was only able to do 27/30. It was pretty aggravating because I knew the material but didn't have the time to complete it because we have to show all work.

Taking a Chemistry for Allied Health Professions. First time taking Chemistry and really nervous. I'm not a "natural" when it comes to math and am hoping that won't hinder my chances of doing well. Had my first lab today. Did really well and am keeping up with reading and lectures...

Who else thinks that it's starting to get complicated? It seemed easy at first, but now it's getting tough. Our entire class was sitting in silence during lecture today. I think we were all overwhelmed.

I think it is too! We are going to get into bonding tonight and Thursday. I have a feeling I'll be studying A LOT more from here on out!

We are on bonding right now and polyatomic and monatomic ions :/ it it very confusing to me. I will definitely be studying constantly!

We're on calorimetry & enthalpy. I do NOT get it!!! I'm going to the next SI session. We get a few simple examples, but nothing that helps with more complex calculations. I'm about to throw my hands in the air on tonight's homework assignment!

Managed an 92% on my first test and currently hold a 97% including the test and all labs. Stoked! Next test is Thursday. Let's see how this one goes. 3 lectures and 3 labs left after Thursday and Friday. Good luck everyone!
