  1. I will be taking Physiology as a seperate class too during the Fall. I took Anatomy last semester and passed. My college had an anatomy CD that really helped me out. It was put together by the professors who taught the pre reqs for the nursing program. It was extremley helpful. So I would check your schools Learning Center to see if they have anything like that avaliable. Good luck to you!
  2. SopranoChris Thank you so much for this site! I've been looking for a site just like this. It's helped so much!
  3. That's how my lab works too. I start freaking myself thinking about the time limit and start stressing. They love to make it hard for us all!
  4. Yes, that helps! Thanks for the tip!
  5. I know what you mean. Everytime I think I can tell the difference between Simple Columnar Epithelium and Transitional Epithelium, I look at a slide and pick the wrong one. I'll check Quizlet out. I have my test in lab on Wednesday as well. Goodluck! Let me know how you do.
  6. You're right. I have a big test on Wednesday on the tissues and bones so we'll see how I do. Thanks.
  7. I am memorizing everything but guess I'm not how it all works together. Our professors doesn't give us multiple choice tests, so understanding how everything works is a must. I thought I could study on my own and understand it but a study group will probably help me out. I will most definitely take your advice. Thank you.
  8. Hi everyone. I need advice. I am currently taking Anatomy and I have been studying my a** off. Well apparently my studying inst paying off. I got a D on my 1st 2 tests and I just don't understand what I'm not getting?! It seems like all of the fresh out of high school students seem to understand the material because their scores are much higher then mine (I'm 26 btw). It's not because I'm not motivated, I want to be a nurse more then anything. So does anyone who has had a tough time in Anatomy have any advice?
  9. My psychology professor told my class once that people tend to retain more information if they study in 20 minute increments. Study something for 20 minutes, take a break for 10 min, and so on. It seems like it it would take forever to cover chapters and terms but its helped me out a lot! I also use flash cards and have friends and family test me all the time. Buddying up with someone in class wouldn't hurt either. You guys can help each other out. Whatever ever you do, don't cram. Remember, "Study long, study wrong". Good luck to you in your classes! :)
  10. All degrees require pre reqs. They are valuable classes that are need to fully understand the body. These classes "weed out" the students who don't have the drive, skill, and backbone to become a nursing student. Enjoy the classes and good luck. :)
  11. LadyFree28 Thank you so much for the advice! ?
  12. Just some advice: I took my chem class this past Fall and passed. The book that helped me out the most was Chemistry for Dummies. I got it for around $11 on Amazon! I recommend it to anyone who is new to chemistry, as I was! Good luck!
  13. Great post! I was confused when I first decided to pursue nursing and I wish I saw this post then! A question for you: I am almost done with my pre reqs for the nursing program at my school. I wanted to become a CNA while I'm finishing up. Do you think this is a good choice?!
  14. I just finished my chemistry 101 class this past fall and I bought "Chemistry for Dummies" on Amazon. It broke down everything you need to know step by step. It helped me out so much! Good luck!
