I took a review ONLY because it was offered at my school free of charge. 4 full days, Thurs and Firday of 2 weeks. I missed the second half of the Fridays due to sitter problems, but I was there for the rest of it.
Somewhat helpful I guess, a nice overview of everything. Computer also turned off at 75 questions.
But I don't think it was the thing that made me pass, and had it not been free I wouldn't have wasted the money on it. I guess it just all depends on how confident you feel as you review the material.

Didn't take review course, and passed 1st time. Review courses were not as available then as they are now; we took our test the old way...2 days, large auditorium, fill in the dots, wait three months for the results. There was no internet to check to see if you passed...you just had to run to the mailbox. The day my results came, I had gotten so tired of checking that I just left for work, didn't check the mail. Of course, that was the day the results came.
back in the dark ages..when i took my boards..there wasnt a review course in my area and i had two little kids; so i went to the book store and bought a nclex review book and studied on my own....when the kids were in bed. Everyone has their own style of studying to remember things..some people do better in a study group and others like me are better off studying by themselves...what ever works!!

Hey everyone!
I'm looking for a few responses to see if I want to spend my $200 and change on a review course or if I should spend it on myself.
All my high stress nursing buddies are definitely taking the course, but I am iffy about it.... so I'd like some input.
Thanks in advance,
Reb
