My girlfriend is considering an RN program. Unfortunately, in our preliminary search, we haven't found any that she can start this fall. Are there any in the nation that have zero to little wait? Or local CC has a 2 year wait.
Thanks in advance. Anywhere in the country is fine.(USA)

Define in the country ha ha. Im in western Kansas at a 4 year university RN/BSN program. Very little to no wait time if you have all your pre-reqs done and do good on the NET. The fall is probably out though. They have that one already figured out. It would be for the Spring semester.

Try Miami dade community college. They have multiple programs(generic, full-time, part-time, accelerated, BSN etc.) begining in almost all semesters. If you have prerequisites completed with >3.7 GPA the seat is 99% guaranteed. Check at www.mdc.edu .The nursing program is in the medical center campus.

If time is more important than cost, private schools might work. The one I will be attending has BSN cohorts starting every 4 months, but you need to apply about 5 months before the start date.

Here in the Atlanta, Ga area I don't know of ANY school that has a wait list... it is HIGHLY competative, but no wait list. For this fall however most schools have already filled all slots, the application process usually starts around January (if I remember correctly)
Good luck to her

There are tons of schools that don't do waiting lists, but it's really late in the year to apply for the fall. My application had to be complete in the beginning of January, and the January deadline was really just to allow for fall grades- transcripts and test scores already had to be in.
Lottery and wait-lists like that seem to me to be more common on the community college level, so I 2nd checking out 4 year BSN programs (or even junior entrance BSN programs). Especially at private colleges.

Fort Morgan, CO and Cheyenne, WY the community colleges there have little to no wait, might be one semester but from my knowledge if your prereqs are done it's a pretty good bet.

I was in a pre-nursing type program. Where people in this particular program got alot of perks: all prereqs for RN and LPN paid for including books, CNA/GNA first aid and CPR paid for, PCT class paid for... and the best part was that we did not have to get on a wait list for the nursing program nor put down a deposit to hold our seat.
The only thing is that she must work as a CNA to remain in this program, only for the prereqs though.

I attend University of Cincinnati. It has the oldest 4-year nursing program in the country. I decided to attend because of no waiting for clinicals.

Our school does not have a waiting list and out of the hundreds of girls/guys I have talked to not more than 4 actually plan on applying this year-and that is only IF they can pass the entrance exam. The school changed it back in January without notice and nobody can pass it. Thank God I took it back in August and am exempt! I HONESTLY don't even think any applicants will be turned away this year because I don't think there will be enough applicants. No Joke.

my cc has about a 1 year wait. however, i've figured this out, it's so you will have three semesters to get a&p i, ii, micro, english, speech, math and your elective out of the way. i was accepted for fall 2008 back in summer 2007, but was offered an early/merit admission every semester. i didn't take them, because i was finishing up the sciences. ours is also starting an accelerated program this fall.
