RN to BSN online

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.

One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.

The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.

Oh, I believe it... but I think you will get it. With a tried-and-true emergency background? C'mon. Shoo-in.

The Air Force and Navy are really hard to get into right now, with grades above 3.7 being pretty important to them in the calculation. There are still many people who are too chicken to join the Army as opposed to the cake-eater forces even though they can all end up at in the most "exotic" destinations. This keeps the number of applicants lower and I think they have more slots. The Army has lots of medics/LPNs who use GI bill to come back and apply for Nursing. Prior military have an advantage and the essays/interview means alot, but proven experience is a credential that can't be beat. I'm a vet dying to get back in, but I'm a new grad with an ADN so it's going to be a long haul given the job market. I've gone into another career since graduating but haven't lost sight of my secret goal to be a nurse.

Anyway congrats and I'll have to check in here once you've made it in. I'll have more questions then if you don't mind.

I hope you're right! I'm just staying positive ... that's why I added the "when, not if" thingy to my sig line. :D

Has anyone been able to change their enrollment adviser at chamberlain? Does anyone know if you can?

I am soon to be 54 years old and have graduated from a diploma program in 1977. I took two courses at a comminity college in Chicago way back when. I enjoyed the conversation with my advisor but I feel the financial advisor Yasmin is a bit pushy.

It is holiday time of year for me. I also work full time and am on call this week. I informed her that I would get the information in to the financial aide office soon and that if I didnt start a class in october then I would start in November. I told her since I have waited this long, six more weeks will not make a difference. She started talking about putting my application "on hold" etc. I told her that wasnt necessary but I was not going to feel rushed or pressured into filling out the papers.

I just sent in my information for my transcripts to be obtained. My nursing school is closed now and has been for a few years. I dont want to send in paper work until I am sure about the program. Some of my coworkers are quite pleased with Chamberlain.

Where are we able to find out about any scholarships available?

Hi,

I am looking for information on Western Governors College--It seems fairly complicated to figure out...Thanks

I looked into myself. I think it's probably decent but it is very much a self driven curriculum. I have opted not to attend because for the undergrad GPA the highest you receive is a 3.0...too low for a Masters program at a later date. Call them directly for the information you need. Some of the admission counselors are good...others seem to be reading from a script trying to figure it out as they go. Maybe that's how they keep their costs down...LOL!:lol2:

But it is accredited and has received some good reviews. Look at Ohio Univ online RN-BSN.

Best of luck to you!

Has anyone attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University?

It says it is all online, no clinicals, no statistics, no chemistry, and $388 credit/hr. CCNE accredited. I would like to hear from someone who has actually taken some classes.
