  1. Hi gamecockgurl, I am currently a Psychiatric nurse. I am looking to transition into Aesthetics. I have been a RN for about 10 years. Would you just start taking the botox and filler courses or try to find someone to hire me first? Any advice would be welcome-Thank you!
  2. Very well said...I'm in total agreement! I wish others had such compassion and willingness to understand that everyone must find their own way.
  3. Not all new nurses are "young" entitled and unable to handle he pressures of nursing! Ruby Vee may be an "experienced" nurse with great insight into the nursing profession. I am 51 years old. I graduated 8 years ago and have had a few jobs in that time period. I know that while in school there was a huge focus put on "losing" your license and working safely. There are many hospitals and facilities out there where the almighty dollar is put before patient care and working safely according to the nurse practice act... I will not risk myself or my patients life. I'll move on as many times as it takes..I worked like a dog to get my MSN and I intend to keep my license.. Ruby sounds very angry...

  5. I had the surgery done on Sept 11 and went back to work last week...I wouldn't do it again.. You cannot walk on it at all and finally when you can its for short periods. I am still in physical therapy for my toe.. It's as stiff as a board and my foot is swollen still and I still limp. I need it on my other foot but I'm not going to do it...I wish I could be more positive but it was more of a big deal than what I thought..

  7. There are places for every nurse and bedside is only one of many. It doesn't make you a failure because you don't care for bedside nursing. Acknowledging that you need to make another choice is healthy. I disagree with billybob and cienurse!
  8. Hi I am interested in becoming a wound care nurse. How would I go about that? I am currently a Psych nurse and I am almost finished with my BSN.Thanks!
  9. I think that you should research your topic not ask questions on Allnurses...Nursing is all about research and the ability to research and critically think. Just my two cents!
  10. I am a Psychiatric nurse with no experience in med-surg..I am trying to change specialities. I was a lab tech/phelebotomist for several years. A LPN for two years and for the past four years have worked Psych...Davita contacted me for an interview for an acute dialysis nurse...I would travel to different hospitals doing dialysis. Davita stated that they would train me for a few months...Wondering what I should do...Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  11. Love Chamberlain!! In the RN to BSN program..So far no problems at all...
