Hey guys I applied to the CEP program and looking at the course load, I think I want the regular ADN lol. Anyone else apply for both? Is it smart to decline the CEP if accepted and hold out for the ADN?

I think it depends on how much you can handle. I WOULD NOT recommend doing CEP if you work a job more than 20 hours a week. It is just too much. I know people in the ADN program who can barely balance both work and school. For CEP it would almost be impossible.

How’s everyone feeling ?

Hopefully we’ll know by October if we get in or not. RCC is definitely my top choice! I’m just glad that the TEAS test is over. Anyone studying for the HESI A2? ?

From what I have heard CEP portion of the ADN program is mostly writing papers. The classes are done in the evening. So I think you could still work during the first few semesters. What I’ve heard from other students is that working while taking Nursing 22 is downright impossible. But I think if you have a good work ethic and a flexible work schedule the CEP program can be done. At least for a while. Save save save!

I’m studying for the HESI. From what I’ve read online it’s very similar to the TEAS, although the science portion has more Microbiology and there is an extra section on personality.

I can't work during the program my jobs 8 to 5. Not flexible. So I have to quit. Glad RCC is so cheap too. Maybe not working will make it possible to get through school in 1 piece lol.

@hopefulkim99 If you don't mind my asking, what is the workload like? Are the classes for CEP taken at the same time as Nursing 11, 12 etc.? Or is it taken after the ADN program? Congratulations by the way!! ??????

Hey! I'm sorry I'm not in the program. I just applied. It looks like CEP students take on additional courses each term like'pathophysiology and other tough sounding courses to me. I'm sorry my message was confusing!

The bulletin they have on display as you walk into the SON states that ADN applicants will be notified by Oct 11.

Ahh its coming up. Did it say when CEP applicants will get notificed?

No it didn't specify CEP but I think they are both included in that group. I applied for both myself.

Not on the bulletin. I applied to the bridge as well (my second attempt). Last semester they notified us less than a week after the AP exam. I believe this semester it’s some time in December. Have you taken the AP exam? are you taking Nursing 18 now or have you already taken it?
