So i posted awhile back about buying a stethoscope off of www.stethoscopes.com ... so I whipped out my Visa card and bought a Littman Cardiology III for 175$ including shipping. It says on their website that it takes around 5 to 10 business days for delivery...that was like a month ago!
So i've been phoning them...no one picks up the phone. its just an automated message that says they are open between certain hours Pacific Time. When you phone back at that time its the same freaking message. The other phone number they provide is out of service.
Soooo....i email them! No response at all. So eventually I phone Visa to dispute this. They tell me it takes up to 4 MONTHS to get a refund and according to them they have to try and contact the company and talk to them...work it out, etc. And the Visa rep said on the phone that if the sellers proves that they shipped my stethoscope, then they wont refund my money even if I haven't received it!!! So much for getting your money back from visa I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW
Oh and i looked online for companies that ship to Canada but I couldnt really find any....allheart and redding medical are supposedly good but they only ship within the USA. The reason i bought online because its like half of the 250$ that ive seen in uniform shops downtown for the same stethoscope. And the website looks legit (at least i thought it did ... i must be the only person stupid enough to think that it was legit )
uggh sorry for the long post ! :uhoh21:
Just keep following up with Visa and you could email the company and let them know that you are reporting the matter. I go through Progressive Medical they are local for me but they are a big medical supply company in the EMS industry and carry alot of stuff. They have done package deals for my school. They have online ordering or you can call in -www.progressivemed.com
Good Luck
First, get a new credit card company. I have ALWAYS received immediate credit for unreceived purchases, and I am not charged for interest and that part of my potential credit line is restored until the merchant can prove they sent it and I received it.
Sorry that happened to you...but the credit card company you have is extremely important.

I ordered an electronic stethoscope on June 18, 2007. They did not send one and after two weeks I inquired about the order. The gentleman told me that there was a mistake in the engraving and it was being redone. He told me it would be another week.
I waited two weeks to inquire again and have not been able to get in touch with the company. I always get their voice mail. I have left numerous messages asking them to call me and have never been contacted. I drove to their address on the receipt they emailed me and it was a UPS Store where they have a post office box. Because of privacy reasons I could not get any information on the company.
I have even asked to cancel the order and have not had any success in getting my money refunded. I have included the information below from the receipt they emailed me. The phone number I have for them is 866-783-8467.

Why would a "company" with a "warehouse" in a UPS store's mailbox ship via USPS and FedEx?
After reading the above, I think you should file a fraud report with VISA and have your card number changed.
I'd file a fraud complaint with these guys too
I would be very surprised if you didnt get a charge back against the website.
The receipt you posted is not proof that it was shipped. The seller needs to show proof of delivery. (a tracking number)
Here's what you can do if you dont get your charge back.
Locate the county clerk's office in the county that the company is located. Listed with the county clerk should be a physical address for the company. A post office box at the UPS store is not supposed to be listed on a company's business certificate.
You might be able to do this via the county clerk's website.
After obtaining the physical address you can take the person listed as the owner of the business to small claims court.
I wouldnt go to the address because it is most certainly the person's home address if he's using a UPS store mailbox as a business address.
Just to clarify, I found that report online; the receipt was posted on this ripoff site by someone else who apparently had problems with this "company".
Excellent advice!Locate the county clerk's office in the county that the company is located. Listed with the county clerk should be a physical address for the company. A post office box at the UPS store is not supposed to be listed on a company's business certificate.
Here is the Better Business Report...doesn't look like they have that hot of a record:
http://www.thebbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=22226020
This is ONLY since May 2007.
I would also report the company to the Secretary of State in Washington. They are using the name "Stethoscopes Plus, Inc." All incorporated businesses are required by law to register with the SOS or they CANNOT claim to be incorporated. This company was "created" in 5/25/2005 and dissolved in 5/31/2006.
Here is the link:
http://www.secstate.wa.gov/corps/search_detail.aspx?ubi=602506414
It also has the name of the "registered agent", which is suprisingly often, their home address.

16 unresolved reports. Sheesh! I googled the name of the "registered agent" and it appears he's also an inventor and a lisenced holistic doctor, according to some websites, with addresses all over western WA over the last few years.
I hope this is resolved in a timely manner!

I would also write to them. Their website lists:
