Retrogression's affect on you

I understand that most of you are quite worried. I know that OGP sent out a letter to all of you that you would be affected. But they messed things up for many of you.

Most of their nurses that they solicited in the UK are actually from the PIC countries and are currently working in the UK. They are the ones that will be affected, plus a few other countries added in.

You may find a slow down for a few weeks but things will then get done much faster for you.

Same thing that happened with the retorgression last year. One nurse from the UK started the process from the very beginning in February, and was in the US with a green card by the end of the summer.

Take some time to do some reading on this and save your sanity.

yes im still working in uk

Hi Evelina,

Can you find a employer yourself since you have your NJ registration and SSN, or do you have to wait for OGP to find you one?

I'm trying to move to NJ as well. It seems that not many agencies have hospitals there. Just thinking whether should join OGP. I'm planning to take NCLEX next month (New Mexico). How long did it take for your NJ registration to come through?

Thanks a lot

Gemma

yes i can ...if a pay the contract breeching amount to ogp they says.they rung me up couple of days before and said they haven't got any hospitals in newjersy atall ...kept me waiting since jan 2005.now they r looking for job nearby newjersy state.ogp have lots of jobs if ur willing to relocate to anywhere in usa...like newmexico,neworleans,lousiana...etc..this is my experience with ogp.newjersy didn't give me license till i has ssn and green card.i waited 12 months for license just because i did n't had ssn.i got my ssn when i went to us becz my initial 6 months visa was due to expire and ogp didn't had any placement offers,so i went to get my green card before 6 months expires and applied for the ssn same time and got it.and nj license been issued after submitting all these at once.

dont ogp mind that you have a greencard which they sponsored but are not working for them?

their contract breacing amount is approx 45000$.i'm sure that will cover the cost of them sponsoring me...

i agree its one large breach fee!!

but surely your visa is issued because you intend to work for that company, at least wont the uscis see it like that?

not sure how it works really

There is 1 thing i don't understand b4 the 1st retrogression how did UK nurses get out to the USA which visa category were nurses in?

When does the next hearing go through the one were 90,000 visa's would be made available again for nurses?

Like many others we were at pkt 3 and then got retrogressed back to 2002 don't know why we were retrogressed but have heard nothing from anyone, and becoming increasingly frustrated by it all, we feel our lives have been in limbo for 3 years now, and we can see no way out.

nurses was on schedule A but in Jan that was removed and I think we went to E3. Everyone was retrogressed cos there was no visas and still affecting everyone at the moment although I think only the PIC countries was expected to be hit initially unfortunately if has affected all.

Thats what confuses me so much, schedule A was removed I presume that was the reclaimed 50,000 visa's but how or under which visa group did all the UK nurses go on before these 50,000 visa's were made available?

Like you Anna we have been retrogressed back to the year 2002 and as yet no movement on that date, but according to the links the USA are trying to reclaim another 90,000 visa's but unsure when it gets voted on (so to speak)

and if it does get approved when are we likely to see some movement.

It is all so confusing to us as i am sure everyone else is confused.

As far as I know we was on schedule A before the reclaimed visas as we was fast tracked but at the moment they have decided to take schedule A off the list

Anna you are a gem i just presumed the schedule A was set up just for the 50,000 visa's and that why it was removed now i know differently thank you for clearing that point up
