I understand that most of you are quite worried. I know that OGP sent out a letter to all of you that you would be affected. But they messed things up for many of you.
Most of their nurses that they solicited in the UK are actually from the PIC countries and are currently working in the UK. They are the ones that will be affected, plus a few other countries added in.
You may find a slow down for a few weeks but things will then get done much faster for you.
Same thing that happened with the retorgression last year. One nurse from the UK started the process from the very beginning in February, and was in the US with a green card by the end of the summer.
Take some time to do some reading on this and save your sanity.
It has nothing to do with where you are based, but 100% with where you were born. If you were born in India, and are living in the UK, you will be affected majorly. And it is not just for people that are in those countries, but also anywhere in the world, determination is made by birth place, not where you were raised, or where you even hold a passport from currently.
hi suzanne this is my 1st post but been reading for quite sometime, admire the work you do here. im one of the many filipino new grads here waiting. im just curious with what you said that being affected by retrogression is based on where you were born? i was actually born in iran when my parents used to be contract workers as physicians but the family went back to the philippines when i was 2 so i actually grew up here in manila and we are filipinos. my birth certificate(NSO) indicates iran as place of birth but i am a filipino citizen. i just wanted to clarify what you mean, does that count?thank you and more power to you and the rest contributing here.

It all goes on place of birth so would go on your place indicated on certificate. Saying that at the moment makes no difference as everyone is affected and currently the Philippines and rest of the world has the same processing date

All depends on whether retrogression is lifted or not, if it is you are looking at approx 12 to 18 months once filing as long as nothing delays you like employer backing out
