Hi there,
I would like to ask about the current job prospects in Canada. I am a Canadian RN from Ontario having a hard time finding work. It is very difficult to get even a part time job, so casual is not really enough.
I would like to know how the job market is in British Columbia and Alberta right now as of 2014. If you guys have any information to add or advice, it would be gladly appreciated.
does it truly get that bad?
i currently live in a rural town (less then 5000) & one my close friends is RN in the ER. i asked her about this & she said she's surprised at how many strangers come into the ER.
if you're speaking from personal experience, may i ask what type of situations have occurred/what area of nursing this happens in?
also, is this complete fluff then?

honestly, one of the reasons i want to become a nurse is because it's supposed to be 'recession proof'.
I work rural our island has under 3500 people and have no issues. I also don't do anything that would make people talk. But i know a few of the teachers up here are party animals
It is small town living. Everyone talks. There is about 100 versions of one story. I have never been harassed
Or feared formmy safety.
I like rural nursing. Takes a certain personality. I move every 2-3 yrs so that may be why too (i got itchy feet) lol
why are people so terrified of working rural?oh well, more jobs for us rural folk i suppose!
I don't think it is as much as being terrified but knowing themselves. Not everyone likes the feel of isolation, not everyone likes the feel of the nearest neighbor being a distance away, others it may be the travelling they have to do.
Who knows
