New Grads Finding RN Jobs?
how so? rural full-time is not possible?

Should i get my bscn?
that is a problem locally here as well. all the public health nurses are seeming to be holding onto their jobs until they physically are unable to continue. this seems to be the case for any profession. unfortunately the pension cuts trickle down and hurt everyone. even with a university degree there is no guarantee of a job.

Should i get my bscn?
i keep hearing on the news that over half of RNs will be retiring within the next 4yrs, so i'm hoping that my graduation (in 4 yrs) will time perfectly with that! if it's what you have a passion for - you'll never regret it :)

New Grads Finding RN Jobs?
How many BScN graduates are having a hard time finding work in British Columbia after graduation? Based on these forums it seems as though there are mostly just casual positions available? I will be graduating in 2014 with a BScN degree from UVIC, and I prefer to work in a rural area, the more secluded the better! (to a point haha) Now I am worried it will be difficult to find a full-time job upon graduation!

RN job with 'normal' hours?
I will be graduating as an RN when I am 27. My plan (however we all know things rarely go according to plan) is to work full-time for about 3ish years, then start my family. It is my dream to obtain an RN job that is M-F dayshifts with weekends off as I want to be able to spend my weekends with my family. I have never had a job with weekends off & it is horrible to miss out on every event because of work. I know a lot of you are going to say I will have to 'pay my dues' before I can even dream of weekends off, however I have been reading quite a bit on this topic on these forums & i see quite a few people have somehow gotten nursing jobs with weekends off. I am curious as to what positions this would be possible with? And how to best set myself up for these positions? Ideally I'd love public health as my mom was a PH nurse & she was always home around the same time we'd get home from school & she had weekends off with us. However I know PH jobs are difficult to get. Any tips on what I can do straight from school to 'up' my resume for these 'normal' hours jobs? Thanks! :)

Canada- BSN Summer Jobs
Hello! I am entering my first year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing in British Columbia, Canada. I am curious as to what type of jobs related to nursing I can do in the summer breaks? IE - could I work as a care aide type of position the first year out of school? How about the following summers? I am very eager to start my career in nursing ASAP! I am so sick of doing various random jobs that have nothing to do with nursing :) Thanks ladies & gents
