  1. Hey ladies :) I start NS in two weeks....ahhhh! Different things work for different people, however, this is what works for me being a busy working mom and athlete. Workouts: I always do complex focus workouts (full body, no rest between) high paced so I get my resistance and cardio in one shot....this works brilliant for me! I also make sure to write down exactly what I'm goning to do and when I'm going to do it.....maybe its OCD hehe but once its written down, theres no going back! Nutrition: I hate cooking straight up....I find it tremendously helpful to use quality supplements to add to your menu. After years of being a competitive athlete, I have tried many different supplemts but what has worked amazing for me is Isagenix products. I have a meal replacement shake for breaky, a regular snack, lunch, another snack and then a shake for dinner (I get to avoid my two least favorite meals!) Its super easy, which is a must for me, and takes the guess work out of it. A bonus.....packing your food for the day is SOOO much easier! Anyways, thats what works for me :) short intense complex workouts and QUALITY supplements. I hope this helps :) Goodluck to you all!!!!
  2. chuckeRN....yes you should! that would be awesome!! I think the mma world could use us :) I agree with the education, I have worked as a post rehab specialist and strength/conditoning specialist for 6 years in many different sports, settings and circumstances. Being an athlete myself (ex-national Olympic Weighter now train in MMA) I wouldn't want anyone assisting me with anything less than real experience and continuing quality education. You never know....we can dream right!! "Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."
  3. Oh Ya!!! I want to be the nurse for UFC! hahaha.....move over cut man
  4. Thank you ladies! I really appreciate your honesty and tips I'm trying to sort out a sample schedule already...knowing it will no doubt change a thousand times! Everyone has such a different experience and I love hearing all about them from "it don't see why everyone thinks its so hard" to "students are dropping like flies, this is the hardest thing I have ever done!" You are right Heather....just gotta find MY groove :rckn: Elliptical and a little Dr. House is a darn good idea...... Thank you again! Tanna
  5. Awesome! Congrats to you also! :yelclap: I have a 22 month old little girl and a little sister who I help care for, with special needs. It's going to be a busy busy life for us for awhile but I keep hearing it's doable and SO worth it!! Gotta keep our eyes on the prize! Wishing you the best of luck! I'm sure we will connect in these posts again at some point! High five to becoming a nurse! :w00t:
  6. Hello Everyone! I`m so thrilled to start my journey in the BSN program at VIU in Sept ....but I`d sure love to hear from any other student moms out there! Especially if you went to or are currently at VIU! What was your experience and do you have any tips or tricks for balancing classes, studying, being a mommy, being a wife, and staying fit......never mind sleeping, cleaning and grocery shopping Reading these posts and hearing the experiences from others really helps ease the tension...so thank you all for posting :)

I here a lot about gaining weight as a nursing student....NO! Anyways, glad to hear you guys are still training.....I won't be the only one :)
