Please, I need help on how to study for the NCLEX Exam! I failed my first exam. What NCLEX books do you recommend that have priority questions and question similar to the state board questions?

I used library books. I skimmed over them all and downloaded the CDs. I did practice questions. No need to spend a lot of money.

NCLEX RN for Dummies.
Seriously, I loved that book. It took you through the types of questions you need to be familiar with for the test.
Good Luck!

Below is the link to an Amazon page....this is a book on test taking strategies and it is terrific!!! Even if you don't know the answer, it helps you break down the question...I loved it

Also, any Saunders/Mosby/Kaplan question/answer book would be beneficial. Pop in the CD and answer questions! The more, the merrier, as it helps you get into test mode. I also makes you familiar with the types of questions out there.

I used the same strategy. I found that Saunder's and Kaplan had excellent questions. Good luck to you! Did you attend an NCLEX review? Our class attended one and I found it very helpful.

My group did the Hurst Review. It was a 4 day seminar that went over the basics. Then I paid the $50 and listen to the recorded lectures over and over and over again. One hint we were given was to pick the safest answer to the question that was in our scope of practice. Only one person failed and it was from personal problems not the review. Good luck

I suggest that you go the the nursing section at the major bookstores and browse through the different types of review books to find what looks good for you. Over the years, I bought more than one just for having the variety, but having looked at them, I like Saunders the best. Anyway you can look for free at the store before you pay a lot of money. If you plan on using Suzanne's program, she recommends the 4th Edition of Saunders. You should read the stickies on Suzanne's plan and consider using it. Good luck.

I just purchased a Saunders book today and read through the first couple of chapters. They are helpful. And i am planning on doing Suzanne's success plan too. Yep, since her first tip requires the 4th ed. It was 50 dollars from where I got it. you can find it at Borders.

I recommend this book Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination by Linda Anne Silvestri (Author)
Use the "Click to LOOK INSIDE!" tool to see the contents & excerpt of the book before you purchase. Also read the customer reviews for the book.
