I'm looking for the right state to get an initial license. I'm eyeing for TEXAS or HAWAII. I wish none of those requires CGFNS.
Also, I've started preparing for NCLEX and IELTS on my own, but I'm thinking of availing a help through structured review guide, maybe a review center. Being a full time Mom, I really want something that would allow me to study at home. I'm not sure if arrangement exist though

Okay. So you passed the NLE??? Congratulations! you made the first step toward success..
Now that your done with the board exam your next step is to register either for the CGFNS and/or the NCLEX. Take note that the registration requires a lot of time especially now that there are many of you who passed and speculating that mostly are planning to take this exams... better start preparing on what to do and all the documents that you need like the TOR or the High School form 137-a( form 137-a is needed in SAIPAN BON)
Meanwhile, now that you still do not have the THE ROOSTER OF REGISTRED NURSES better prepare all the documents lang muna. The ROOSTER OF REGISTERED NURses is in the PRC and for sure they still don't have it by now. They might issue it or have the master list by next month or a month after pa 'coz of the volume of passers. You need it if you dont have the Certificate of Registered nurse yet. So better plan the US BON first and check for the fees in different states. The fees matter from one state to the other. Check the website (http://www.ncsbn.org)
Next, if your planning to take the CGFNS all you have to do is get the forms or download it (http://www.cgfns.org) take note this forms are for free. There are some review center who are selling the forms, wag pabola (don't be fooled) when you get the forms pass the necessary forms to your school while waiting for your PRC license 'coz it is also needed before you forward the application to CGFNS.... Mind you the processing of the CGFNS is way too slow because thats the only office that is processing the every nurses who wish to take the exam, they don't only process the Phil RN but the entire world. So be patient.
But, if your planning to take the IELTS first before taking the CGFNS or NCLEx. All you need to do is decide which centre you would like to take.. You can take the BRITISH COUNCIL or the IDP which is the AUSTRALIAN Counsil. The exams are the same and the passing score of both are the same. They matter on test schedule date. Take the academic module, pass the exam with the general score of 6.5 up and speaking of 7.0 up. (for US bound Nurses, but if your planning to work in other country aside from states check the required scre). Although you can take the exam even without the prc license but there is a risk before passing the CGFNS or NCLEX. The IELTS score will expire in 2 years time if you don't pass the CG or the NCLEX exam. ... Check the CGFNS website for more pertinent details.

hello! congratulations to all who passed the June NLEX! we all made it as RNs!
thanks for the infor nurseako, though im quite confused which exam to take first NCLEX or CGFNS? a friend told me it takes 3-4 mos before we can get our license and they said the deadline of application for CGFNS is on September...im also scouting for reviews on review materials for both international exams, but still i don't know which exam to take first. perhaps u can help us on this matter.. thanks so much!

You are welcome BIGGIEBOY. First of all I am not sure regarding the requirements of different BONs if they still need the PRC license. I am not quite sure about this just check their websites. But, as far as I know there are some BON that doesn't need the PRC license . Next, the CGFNS need a copy of your certificate so now since you said that the PRC will release after 3 months what you'll need to do is wait for the certificate or maybe ask the PRC official what other options they have if they can't issue it yet.
During our time we also waited for 2-3 months to get the certifcate. I dont know now because the number of passers double.
Lastly, I can't tell you what review center is best to enroll in this public forum.. Maybe you can private message me. About the book and review materials, after the NLE I only bought the SAUNDERS which is highly recommended by everybody i know. Then, the GAPUZ book which is until now I'm still reading over and over again. Just a piece of advice for you who's planning to take the CGFNS. Just focus on one content book and one bullet book.. Content book is the COMPREHENSIVE books by SAUNDERS,MOSBY..... then the BULLET BOOK is by Gapuz. You can't understand the bullets if you dont have the backbone or the structure of the topic. What I'm saying read the Comprehensive and review on the bullets.
thanks nurseako...i think with the current delay of the board results i wont be surprised kung pati certificationnatin delaed din...is it advisable to take the ielts first? or ? coz im still confused...i passed the board but i dont knw where to go...tnx again...
