  1. Hi. I received an email again from the Col. that interviewed me last December. She was setting up a zoom call interview. Do you think she just accidentally sent me a request or will she wants to interview me for the second time? I immediately emailed her back but I am still waiting for her reply.
  2. I will answer your question but you are off topic. I am originally from the Philippines. I have been a member of allnurses.com since I started my Nursing career, I find this website very helpful.
  3. Hi guys! Its fun reading this thread back. It's been almost 10 years since this thread started. What's up with you all? How long did you guys stay in Shands or are you all still working there? I'm excited to here any update. As for me I stayed there for 9 yrs! (Holy cow!). I left after I graduated my FNP and started working in a primary care clinic. I just want to know how was your life after or what was it 10 yrs after this thread was created.
  4. No! The only Ivermectin I prescribe is for scabies patients.
  5. Yea. I hear you. On the next board, do you think I still have to start the interview again with the Col.? Or, they will just continue the process where I left? Also, I'm planning to join a specialty clinic (Transplant team NP) will it be a problem for next board selection if I leave my primary care NP role?
  6. Hi All, I have not updated this post for so long. I'm already an NP working in a primary care clinic and urgent care. I have been working in a primary care for almost 1 yr this coming April. I got accepted to work with a nephrologist who is a visiting doctor in one of the hospitals here and has privileges to visit in Fresenius Dialysis units. I am excited to go back to Nephrology!
  7. Hi all, I hope everyone doing well. I have not updated this post for so long. I passed my NP on September 2020. Started working as NP in a primary care clinic on April and I'm loving it. Good luck to those planning to take the Boards.
  8. Hi all, I might be in a wrong post but if anyone has an answer on my inquiry regarding my Air force application that would really be helpful. I applied the Air force as FNP and my application process started July 2021. Documents, Transcripts, Medical report for my scars (accident when I was in my teens). I had MEPS on September 2021 and was interviewed by a Col. (I think she was a nurse manager, not an APRN) on December 2021. After the interview my new recruiter told me to wait for next fiscal year since the positions have been filled. Anyone has a clue on NP's application processing time? Thank you so much, I'm glad I found this site to help me figure out some answers.
  9. I am planning to take the test mid-July. This pandemic is not helping out my work-life balance schedule. I can't study in my house because of my kid and so manyy extra stressors, I cant go to a library because it's close. Starbucks and other coffee shops is not feasible at the moments. I am trying to set-up my study area at the park for prolly 3hrs. I hope I will pass this test.
  10. Oh great! My current hospital is hiring 1 Nephrology NP job. I have been in the hospital for 8 yrs and 6 years of which in dialysis. I wanted to continue working there as an NP and I hope they will hire me considering I am FNP not an ACNP. Our PA sees our patient in the chronic unit and LTAC (long term acute care) patients but I don't think she rounds when her patients get admitted. We do not have NPs' all we have are Attending, Nephrology fellow- first year & second years, and 1- PA.
  11. can I work in nephrology clinic like round in dialysis centers and do chronic orders even if I have FNP license? SOrry I am a bit confused there.
  12. Thanks for your reply. I get confused there, I cannot take the AANP-AGNP board exam? My program was MSN-FNP and I do not think I can work with pediatric and that was the rotation that I did not like most.
  13. Hi, it was nice reading all these threads. I recently completed my FNP program and was planning to take the board exams. I have been a dialysis nurse for 6 years now and work primarily in the Acute dialysis unit. Although sometimes I pick up shift in Chronic Unit but I like to work more in Acute dialysis unit. Anyway, my questions is can I take the AGNP (Adult-gerontology NP) board exam if I want to work as a nephrology NP. I will be seeing the adult patients and I have no plans of seeing pediatric nephrology patients. Can I take the AGNP Board exam?
  14. Hi fleour and to all following this thread! It is nice to be back, I havent been following this thread for sometime now. I am already in the US since June. My apologize for not updating you guys, okay as to your jurassic question re: my interview. Here's wat i can remember. I went to the embassy as early as 4:30a.m my sched was 0730. documents where checked at the gate and they gave you a sticker for your 2go delivery. when i went inside they will give you a call number and you will wait for you number to be called and approach the designated window. at first a filipno staff checked my papers and ask me if i need to update my documents which i told him i brought a new ds230 bcause of some changes in my address. so he took my new ds230,picture NBI claerance, visascreen and he gave me the old ds230 back. He advised me to wait for the consul interview which took me sometime. While waiting I saw my friend in the waiting area waiting for the interview also. So, we chat while waiting for our turn to be called then my number flasehd and I approached the window for the consul. She asked me to take oath infornt of her, ( to testify that all the docs are correct) then she asked me 2 questions only. First, do you know the name of your petitioner and secondly how much will you earn. Tip: answer only what is being asked. So afterwhich she told me that my visa has been approved and I will wait again for my number to have the final instructions for the delivery. finally I finished that time before lunch time and went out the embassy happy and contented. how about you FLOUR? what is your update?
  15. I will be joining Shands on June and I think I will be in ER. Anyone here has an idea how terrible a typical day in ED at Shnads?
