hello. i just want to know if you already have your eligibility? I am planning to apply for vermont but i am worried if it will be granted coz i graduated in 1992 yet and no hospital experience coz i work in a government office here in the phils. Right now i am preparing my papers for NCLEX and planning to apply for vermont. Is it possible that i may be granted an eligibility despite of my unexperienced? Please reply.... thanx

Permission to sit for the exam is not based on experience, but when you actually graduated from school as well. Have you worked in the medical field at all? And where do you actually plan to work? Please be aware that with VT, you will only have a window of 90 days to take the exam once the ATT is issued.

You are preparing your papers for licensure, there is nothing that gets prepared for the NCLEX exam. You need to have permission from a state BON to be able to sit for the exam, you cannot apply for it directly.

Please take the time to read the stickies at the top of this forum, and pay close attention to the Primer up there, as well. It will give you information that you need. VT is taking three to four months to grant approval to sit for the exam.

each state has different expiry dates. also be aware the att is eligibly for use once then you have to apply again if you don't pass the first time, which for a foreign trained nurse is very possibly

so your saying not all foreign nurse can have

att?

so your saying not all foreign nurse can have

att?

what we are saying is that the average passing rate for a foreign nurse taking the nclex-rn for the first time is only about 45%. many do have to retake, and you have to go thru the process again of applying to the state, as well as paying the fee to pearson-vue.

many atts now are only good for three months, do not assume that it is automatically for a year, most are not. and as stated above, each state can set their own requirements and they do that.

and if the foreign nurse does not meet the requirements of the us, they are not going to get the att. it is not an automatic thing. it means that the nurse has met all of the requirements for licensure in the us and that state, except for the taking of that exam. the exam is the final step, not the first.

Hello guys..Anyone now what state does Vermont allows as their reciprocity? How many years after can a licensed nurse get a reciprocity to be able to transfer to another state? I have submitted my requirements for liscensure and just waiting for the reply but I actually plan of working to Ohio. Thank you and keep going all filipino nurses!!!!

Is 90 days the given time to register for NCLEX schedule or within 90 days u must sit for the exams?thnx

Hi, I have just browsed the website of Vermont OPR and when I checked the status of my application, on the box where it is stated : "Approved to Take Exam" - 3/30/2007. Does it mean that I can now register with Pearsonvue for my ATT? I'm quite confused coz there is still this box for - "Made Eligible to take Exam" - (and there is still no date) - What does it mean??? Anybody, please help, I'm confused!!! Thanks

Call VT BON and ask them about this.

please take time to read this forum. There is no such thing as reciprocity what you will be doing is endorse and you can endorse your license to any of the states but you must follow what the BON requirements are for foreign trained nurse

Thanks Anna for the information.Do they require a specific number of year/s as residency before you can transfer to another state? It gave me confidence that I could stay near my parents me working in Ohio and my family in Michigan. All the best.......
