I have been working m/s for almost 2 weeks and have noticed that so many of the nurses I work with wear either the Micheal Kors watches or coach watches. You wonder how I get close enough to notice this, but if you know the watches they are unmistakeable. I also notice that most of them wear their ginormous wedding rocks and since I am a newbie fresh out of nursing school, of course I leave my rock at home, but I was just wondering and polling you random nurses if you would risk wearing a very expensive timepiece or your wedding rings to work all day? Being so new, to me it screams INFECTION!!! lol. I wear my little old nursing school watch and feel so plain next to all the bling on the floor....
Compare to a Swiss watch...sure. But I'm willing to bet that to most floor nurses, three hundered dollars for a watch is expensive.
Did you mean to quote me? Because I do agree that $300 is an expensive watch and would never wear one to work that costs that much....My other watch is for dressy occasions only. :)
I wouldn't even pay $300 for a watch, so I guess the answer is no.
Ditto. I don't think I've spent $300 cumulative on all the watches I've had throughout my lifetime. My watch probably cost like $30 and I've had it for YEARS. I plan on keeping it until it completely dies. I don't like to spend money on these kinds of things.
I am not married and I wear no rings at all.
Pay $300 for a watch? Does it tell a different time then the $10 watch??
Are you married? Is your wedding ring with a diamond or a CZ? Because a CZ looks just like a diamond.
Just making a point. It's okay to like a good quality watch that will keep its color and its time for more than 2 years, and is pretty to look at. Some people purchase watches as jewelry, in addition to keeping time.

I spend under $20 for my watches for work. $300 is an expensive watch...at least for the majority.
