  1. I just got into an RN program in San Diego. 86 on TEAS. 3.46 GPA...it is possible. Apply for all schools in area and see what happens first.
  2. Never mind, yes I did. She sent me an email saying add codes will be sent on Monday.
  3. I got the email today! I don't know how many points. I tried not to obsses over it 😂😂 did is you guys get the add code for the Success Course? I haven't gotten that yet..
  4. Hi guys! I recently got hired into the float pool at a huge hospital system in my city. I have been a CNA for 1 year, but I have only worked at a Rehab for a couple months and currently at an assisted living facility on top of the hospital. I had my last day of floor orientation at the hospital in the ER. God what a horrible day! The nurses were very very nice, but my preceptor was NOT a good teacher... I guess I shouldn't say I absolutely hate the ER, but having a preceptor like mine, did not make me love it. Half the time I could not find him and when I did find him, he gave me no direction at all and would turn around and walk the other way. I thought, "well god should I follow him like a lost puppy dog or what!?." I did get to practice a few EKG's which was great. Are any of you working as CNA's in the ER and if so, how do you like it? I might add that there were only a few CNA's in the ER, and the remaining were not actually CNA's. They were considered "techs" but had EMT experience.
  5. I know this is an old post lol, but god I could have written this myself. I am putting up with the SAME thing currently. I notice you're from Southern California. So am I....could be the same place!! hahaha
  6. They start at $12 an hour, I worked 6-2 am, three days a week since I had another job.
  7. I finished the program at CSN December 2013, and I got a job in my clinical setting in January right after I passed my state exam. I loved the program! The teachers were awesome.
  8. Oh...my...gosh...
  9. Ugh I've been in that situation where I give them an excuse, but then they will say some bs like "well do you think I can just take your notes home, copy them tonight, and I'll give them back to you in class tomorrow?" LOL now THAT sucks..
  10. It might be a good idea to find a CNA program first. Those are usually a few hundred bucks (depending on where you go), and most programs are a couple months long. If you do that, you can start working as a CNA, getting your foot in the healthcare world, learning the basics, and actually SEEING if you want to pursue nursing further. Plus you're earning a paycheck and saving moolah! If your main goal is to become an RN, then go straight for that after the CNA program. Like I said, you can make connections, earn money, save, learn the basics, and get your foot in the door while working as a CNA, all while you're attending an RN program.
  11. Pay $300 for a watch? Does it tell a different time then the $10 watch??
  12. LOVED YOUR STORY!!!
  13. You said it PERFECTLY! I'm 22, and I "feel" old because I'm not an RN yet...but I see all my peers/friends graduating with their bachelors in different majors, and I'm not there yet.
