What do you do when your instructors are useless?
To make a long story short... BOOM! I failed my 2nd LPN to RN bridge course by 1%. I'm devastated, pissed, blah blah blah. Next day, I called my school and asked whats next? I was given two options: restart where I left off or start from the beginning (mind you if I pass this course I go to third semester). I absolutely suck at critical thinking and made that known; since this is an accelerated program they do not teach you (you read the assigned pages and take the test). My instructor tried to help a little but told me to get a tutor (too late). There's another school that would allow me to start 2nd semester as a traditional student that I might try even though its way more expensive. Do you believe that critical thinking skills can be developed? I hear some people say either you have it or you don't... and I don't right now but I'm trying.

First time in my life that I feel like a failure
I have been an LPN for 4 years and I couldn't wait to go back to school for my RN. Well what a big ******* mistake! I started a LPN to RN bridge program. I had to pass chemistry and the 2 bridge classes. I pass chem with a 94%, 1st bridge class with a B- and failed the last one by 1 damn point (74%). I am literally disgusted and feel like a complete failure. At this point I don't even want to go back and retake the class, but I have put so much money into this and don't want it to go to waste. Has anybody been successful the second time around? I'll literally sitting here laughing and crying because this is some ******** LOL omg I'm pissed

Should I get some experience??
I recently took the entrance exam for the LPN program at Erie 1 Boces and passed with flying colors. I'm so excited to start in October!!! :) But I was wondering if I should get some work experience while in the program like (HHA or CNA) or will the clinical's be good enough once I'm finish? The program is for 12 months.

There has to be an easier way....
I was currently going to school for IT but that was terribly boring so I went to my second choice, nursing. I was thinking about taking the LPN program at Erie 1 Boces but thought why wouldn't I go straight for my bachelors to become an RN. I have completed a majority of my prerequisites so I mind as well go for the BSN right? What do you guys think about that?

In need of some healthcare experience
I am new to the healthcare field and was just wondering how some of you guys and gals got your foot in the door (hopefully that makes sense). I am hoping to start the LPN program this fall and would like to end the program with some experience.

I feel like I'm too old for this
Seems like I hit a nerve lol. Didn't mean to but I sometimes have that effect on people. Sometimes I have a pretty crappy mindset, don't judge me.

I guess we just have to stop worrying about where other people are in their career and focus on ours. We're going to make it and we're going to be great nurses

I feel like I'm too old for this
Hi, I'm a 23 year old who has just decided to become an LPN after a long period of uncertainty. I struggled with depression for years and even through I love working with people, you just don't want to bring your personal problems to work or school. So I took a little break from school to fully work on myself. Five years later, I'm back at and now I'm feel like I'm too old to be a LPN-RN student even through I have some prerequisites completed from my previous major. I just wanted to know if there are other ladies or males who started late like me and how has it been for you? And how did you get a entry level position in the healthcare field? Thanks!
