Hey all! Just wanted to start a thread for those who are applying for the RN new grad program at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego for the Summer 2019 cohort so we can update each other about what's going on! Good luck to everyone!

Same @brittpowell29. Maybe that’s a good thing?

I had a friend who heard back from the PICU yesterday!

Thanks for letting me know @PedsNurse2019 - best of luck to you friend. ?

Congrats to those who have heard from their selected units!!! ? So exciting! Anyone hear from UC yet?

Has anyone heard back from medical or hem/onc?

No:/ those were my two choices as well. I have a friend who got a call for an interview for hem/onc two weeks ago

@grimmk17 @Newgradmk7 I haven’t heard anything from hem/onc and my friend hasn’t heard anything from medical. Who else is checking their email every 5 min?

I know I am beginning to lose hope because it's already the end of the week and it seems so many people have heard back already. I'm originally from California but graduating from school in Indiana this month and I feel like not having my license already is going to hurt me and I was really counting on this residency to be able to come back to cali to work since it's so hard to get a hospital job outside of a residency

ME! I’m going to be so mad if there is nothing sent today and I call them and they tell me next Friday. I plan on calling HR today around 4 if I haven’t heard anything by then. I have other jobs lined up waiting to give them an answer. Can’t put it off another week or two.

For those who have gotten offers do you mind me asking what experience you had that made you a competitive candidate? I had an externship at Radys and have my CA nursing license, am PALS and ACLS certified, and also have been a nanny.

I'm in the exact same boat as you are, I have a job offer and have to let them know by this afternoon if I am accepting or not, it's getting very frustrating to keep waiting this long!

I received an email today from HR that stated that my application was not selected for interview because the critical care units which I had selected (PICU & NICU) selected were focusing their efforts on those who had completed their senior preceptorship in the PICU or the CVICU. Feeling bummed that my practicum on the Pediatrics Unit did not count ? feeling super defeated.

Wishing you guys the best of luck! Will be applying next round.
