Father, Daughter Claim Powerball Prize
Russ Ankeney and Jessica Traylor, a father and daughter from Randleman in Randolph County, NC, were excited to see their numbers come up in a recent Powerball drawing.Their ticket matched all five white balls but...
MSNBC Also states Jessica Traylor is a nurse. Interestingly enough, North Carolina has no one named Jessica Traylor licensed as a nurse. Either the news got it wrong or someone is full of it.
I have already decided if I ever won the Powerball, I would NOT annouce it to the world. I will take the anoynomous option.
I work in a hospital where 80% of our patients are frequent flyers and I have seen a few of them out in social settings. I be damned if I'm on the news for winning the Powerball and the same drunk that I have taken care of 3 times in one week see me and wants to sue me because he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
Besides, I have too much family that I don't have contact with that will come out the woodwork looking for a handout.
If I won the lottery, I would take my prize and travel the world, then settle down in Houston TX.
Too funny - but the lottery rules state you will be identified. I'd have to wait awhile, have my escape first class tickets bought then disappear after picking up my check (in my dreams)!
As far as the reporter - I've known the facts in many "human interest" stories out of the pediatric hospital where I worked, NEVER ONCE did the reporter get all the facts straight. I remember one parent going ballistic over this and the response was "it made a better story our way". I've always worried about the validity of "real" news ever since.
What's the old saying? Only believe half of what you read....
Hmmm...last time I looked LVN and LPN both had the word nurse to describe their title.
Yea, and they both have licenses you can look up.
In all honesty I just tried to look it up because I was curious how long she had been a nurse for. I was trying to figure out the statistical probability of hitting the lotto myself. Call me a stalker if you like, but your nurse license is freely public information. In fact, here in Georgia, they even publish your home address on the website for anyone in the world to see.
When I won the lottery (not a lot, but a nice chunk of change for a very broke person!), I made sure not to tell many people at all, had my boyfriend at the time put it in his name, and didn't tell people until about 6 months later (when most of it was gone). It was 3 years ago, and how I wish I had that money again! LOL

When I was a LPN I called myself a nurse. Now as a RN I call myself a nurse. If I won Powerball I'd call myself a RETIRED nurse:clown: and never work again!
