  1. OOPS... meant to say those parents are experts
  2. I have already been on the LLS chat board. Those psrents are like experts on the subject Anytime I ask a question, I get an immediate reply. They are awesome and so are all of you.:heartbeat
  3. Thank you all. His ANC was 0 all this week. Today when we went back he was up to 700 so things are looking up...
  4. Hi guys, My 17 year old son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia on 1/18. The prognosis is very good, but the induction phase of chemo is pure hell! He's already lost 20 pounds and was diagnosed today with C Diff. If he loses any more weight, may need to consider a feeding tube. We are very hopeful for a quick remission, so any kind thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. WOOHOO!!:ancong!:
  6. I agree with the posters who urged the clinic job. I only worked in the hospital as a LPN, but quickly found it was not for me. My whole RN career so far has been in clinic, and I can't imagine ever going back to hospital work. Love the clinics! It's stressful some days, but it's a whole different kind of stress. And believe me, there is plenty of work to do at my clinic, very little time for chit chat. Also sounds like it was be easier not woking nights/holidays/weekends with the kids.
  7. I have a love/hate relationship with my job: Love working with my docs..they are the best Love developing a bond with the patients who are nice and treat us with respect Love hearing "you are my favorite nurse" from my patients Hate dealing with the patients who are just mean and nasty no matter how much you do to try to help them Hate hate hate dealing with insurance companies
  8. I believe you said the Dr already told your wife she could stop the med at any time? So why does it matter if she decreases to 5mg before stopping? I'm not seeing the big deal here. If the wife is not upset, I wouldn't worry about it.
  9. Mine was on the 8th. I wish I turned 25 instead of 35 :) Happy Birthday!
  10. When I was a LPN I called myself a nurse. Now as a RN I call myself a nurse. If I won Powerball I'd call myself a RETIRED nurse:clown: and never work again!
  11. We had a pt at my clinic a few weeks ago at 17.9. She came in complaining of pain in the side of her tongue, she was bleeding into the tissue. We only gave her PO Vitamin K and the next morning her INR was back in normal range.
  12. OP, I honestly don't blame you. You could say it's none of your business and move on, but that's hard to do. I was a LPN for a long time too, and I didn't go through all the extra schooling to make less money than other nurses with the same amount of experience. Kajunnurse, you stated that it takes everyone on down to the cook to take care of the patient. Does that mean the cook in the cafeteria should also make as much as a nurse? Just checking.
