Did anyone see her show today? I was so upset to once again see the nurse as the butt of a joke. It's just getting so damn old and degrading.

If you saw it, would you be interested in doing an email campaign?

I saw it....it didn't phase me at all.......You need to relax! lol! Ellen is a comedian & I honestly thought she was faking she injured her back until I sat & watched for a while then the MRI with the doc explaining it....... I think you read too much into the "nurse" who was with her...I bet she had her there kind of as a "spoof" towards people who try to portray nurses in that very manner.........I really think you read into it too much.....that's just my own opinion though.... I wasn't offended in any way at all....... Ellen just has that very dry sense of humor and I think she's pretty funny actually.......Please don't let that "nurse" get to you....life's too short to worry over such a minor thing......

Naah, not worth the effort. She also had a lot of good things about the nurses etc that took care of her in the ER. I just hope she feels better soon, she had quite the injury.

I can't get it to play.
I doubt I'd be offended though.

Wow...you must have alot of time on your hands... Why are you "generalizing" that "nurses like me" allow this to go on???? In that case, "nurses like you" need to stop being so uptight over stupid things like this, you seem to have alot of anger inside..........if you don't like what was on then change the darn channel & stop watching....... geez:uhoh3: I have far more important things in life to worry about than what was on Ellen today.... I mean you have 2 arms & 2 legs that work, and are able bodied, correct? And you have a roof over your head, correct? So why get all bent out of shape over a darn tv show??? Honestly!!

I found a clip of the video. Maybe it's not the correct one, but what did you find offensive about it?

Sorry, I actually agree with this. If I got all worked up every time someone put me down cuz I'm a nurse, or a mom, or a woman, or whatever.. I would ALWAYS be worked up about something (and that doesn't leave any time left for the people/things I enjoy). There are plenty of people appreciating me for who and what I am and I will be damned if I'm draw my opinion of myself based on what I see protrayed on TV. TV is just entertainment. If I don't like it I turn it off.
You are free to your point of view w/o having to "slam" someone else for their point of view.
Oh and I'm also a blonde - would have had to shave all my hair off years ago if I let all THOSE put downs get to me! :)

Please, keep the remarks on this thread away from the personal and focus on the subject itself. Remarks like "nurses like you" are incendiary and add nothing to the debate.
Thanks.

Hmm...the clip I saw just had a lady dressed "old-nurse" style sitting by the bed...I can't get anything else to play - what did she say that was so bad?
