"Likes" define my value

Published

I turned off my "like" notifications yesterday. I forgot that I turned them off. All day today, every time I logged in, I was mildly disappointed that I had no "like"s. Then I remembered that I turned off notifications.

I have turned them back on. I guess I need that validation.

Some websites have thumbs up OR thumbs down option, so in a way "dislike." But this is a forum of friendliness and positivity, so of course we have no need for such a system :D

I was at a forum once that had a reputation system that included getting negative reputation. You got a red mark for a negative rep, they could add a comment. It was anonymous.

It was very nasty and they did away with the whole thing. I think the thank you button is perfect.

I also find myself looking forward to seeing if people quoted my post with something like "that's the funniest thing I've ever read!" Lol, my sister teases me and tells me I have an addiction to allnurses

Christy, you are the bomb! I like this comment! :)

Haha this is funny. I'll admit, I smile a little when I see someone liked my post. Now, a DISLIKE button would be hilarious on this site. I've seen some pretty silly/mean/derogatory things said and I'd love to throw them a big DISLIKE! :cheeky:

I like getting "likes" too. It makes my day to see someone "liked" what I wrote. If I make one nurse feel better after a bad shift, I have done my job. :) I also like giving them too.

When it says, "Thank", that's "Like", for some reason. :)

I admit, I like seeing the notifications, too. It's nice, though, to be able to follow up on a post where someone quoted you, since there's no other notification for that. I wish there was.

I wish they'd put smileys on the mobile app. Since my lap top was stolen I only use the mobile app because its too hard to read/post on the mobile web version. I bet if I got to use some of the cool emoticons I'd get more likes on my posts haha

Makes me feel all important and stuff and at least someone is liking what I say, in real life all my good wisdom goes in one ear and out the other!

There's great $$ to be made in the LIKE fulfillment industry...I'm sure of it. I'll even pay myself a nickel for ever Like I get of this Reply. Come on folks, break the bank! ;)

It's fun to see the likes when I come to AN. It's a nice little thing each day!
