"I don't know who to vote for?"

Not that Kerry would be my first choice of all posibilities, but is way ahead of Bush on the issues I support. (No suprise there!)

2. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (64%)

3. Bush, President George W. - Republican (10%)

Good job, NurseRatched! Methinks there are trolls about........ :o

There was a website that would give you a bunch of multiple choice questions dealing with how you felt about certain issues. When it graded your test it showed which candidates most closely matched your answers.

Great site, Froggy! I found out that Ralph Nader is my most likely candidate (aside from the unnamed Green) but I'm not doing that again this election. I was heartened to find I'd vote for Lyndon LaRouche before I'd vote for Bush!

As a non-American (believe it or not there is such a place) and my own personal point of view.... don't vote for personalities. Kerry went to Vietnam and won some medals. Does that make him a good man? Is going to war (the aim of which is to kill people whom you have never met who happen to have leaders who disagree with yours) the measure of a man. Sure it can teach leadership but so can the boy scouts. Kerry by his own admission commited war crimes. He said it and there is no denying it. He even said it was common place. Having never been to war (touch wood) I hope to never understand it. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Is having a former president as a dad the measure of a man being a good president. Here you have a chance to judge him on his performance. Has he been forthright? Honest? Made America a better place? Been fair? Made the tough decisions when they had to be made?

The last three elections I have voted against my party of choice. Why? I just didn't think that they made the grade. Corruption is wrong even if it is my party. Arrogance is dangerous in powerful people.

If you are a one issue voter it is easy. Who is going to serve the American fighting men/women best? Bush or Kerry? easy peasy.

If you want to look at the big picture it is a bit tougher.

At least in America you have the free choice to vote. Here in Aus it is compulsory (they get paid for each vote).

Whatever happens we will certainly be living in interesting times.

All fecal matter aside, research the issues that are important to you. All of the issues, not just nursing. See which candidate or party best meets your stance on the issues. That should be the candidate you vote for in the upcoming election. You probably won't find anyone who meets all of your needs, so you'll have to settle for the one who comes the closest. I could use this time to plug for my candidate, but I won't do that. I just urge you to do the research and vote according to your best judgement, don't let your precious vote go to waste. So many have fought, bled, & died to give that right to vote. Please use it.

Test Post, I seem to be having trouble and I want to see if this gets through OK.

Not the one who came back after getting his medals and threw them away, saying he and others in the military committed atrocities.... he insulted Vietnam military personnel. Not the one who has not served his constituents by being there to vote for issues...EXCEPT against Partial Birth Abortion (which we ALL know is NOT EVER done to save the life of a mom if we are honest.... slowly inducing labor when a C-Section is KNOWN to be the choice if things go sour. OH, but that could save BOTH Mother AND baby, right? Duh... )

No, I don't think standing on his medals warrants a single vote for him. Even he did not value them... or did he? Did he really toss em, give em back, or did he toss someone else's and save his own while saying....

I honestly haven't voted since I was 18. :chair: So far I think thats what has saved me from jury duty.

I went to that site, and then after taking the quiz, went to the one that was about the 100% candidate...something came up saying something needed to be downloaded, and without thinking, I clicked yes... AVG said VIRUS... actually Trojan... TWICE. Not sure why this happened to me, and not to others, but I would use caution....

Thanks for the heads up. I have it bookmarked to go to, but I won't bother!
