Ok....first question
I read a chat transcript on EC's site....the advisor was saying that they advise students to start with the "transition to rn role" exam first to get students thinking like a nurse....did anyone take this exam first? If so was it difficult ( I know on some level any exam of this nature is difficult)
next
Is anyone interested in an online study buddy? I'm desperate!
Thanks everyone!

Foundations of nursing...AKA NC7. I took it first. It is very dry. I had heard that many people had said it was hard to stay on task because it gets boring pretty quick. I did not mind the History and organizations, but the laws! laws! laws! LOL! Anyway I personally took it to get it out of the way. Someone had said that NC7 could really be taken anywhere during the testing phase, and that the rest kind of builds to the next one, and that seems to hold true, but that is my opinion. MEMORIZATION is the key to this exam. Good Luck, and if you go by excelsiors content guide and learn everything that is on there. You should be fine. I used Study group 101 notes and an old ATI book. Anyway...You will do fine...I bet you remember this test now...Don't you Phoenix? LOL! Traci
Thank you Traci:yeah::yeah: lordy be I thought that was the toughest exam only because I dislike history with every fiber of my soul:uhoh3::uhoh3: I memorized and definitely put all that info in a short term area of the brain,
who was the first nurse, that went to "skool":lol2::lol2: dont worry momofqc, i passed with an A or B, I left it for dead last exam and I dont think I would of changed it, because it was what gave me the motivation to get done with, so I was then CPNE eligible. Best of luck, Donna
sooo....it's so boring you either want to get it over with or you want to put it off till the end....LOL
Thanks for the warning...I can mentally prepare myself.

I took it first because I wanted to get it over with. Glad when it was over. Can't say that it got me thinking like a nurse.

I don't know....I thought this was one of the easier exams....like someone pointed out, if you download Excelsior's study guide, it is an excellent resource for this exam. All the information is very straightforward.

I don't agree.
I flew through all the other exams taking a test every 2-3 weeks and then I finished with NC7 which I waited for 4 weeks to test and I am thanking everyday for that decision. All the other tests seemed pretty simple since it is so similar to what we already learned as an LPN but NC7 was too boring for words. I had a hard time sitting down to focus for that one and if I would have taken it first I don't think I would have been so driven to finish the other tests so quick. I truly think if I would have started with that one I wouldn't be done with all the other tests right now and waiting for my CPNE.

I knew if I could get thru that the excruciating exam.B-O-R-I-N-G! LOL! I would have it over with, and hopefully even with the more difficult exams that they would at least hold my attention so that I would not lose interest. Anyway...It is up to you. I really does not matter as long as we finish them. This exam will fit in where ever you want it. Good Luck! Traci

I used NC7 to break it up a bit. I stuck it in the middle. I went micro and NC1 on the same day first (don't do that!), NC6, NC7, NC3, NC4, then finally NC5. I might have taken NC3 before NC7...I might have gotten that order wrong. NC3 was my favorite. NC1 was my least favorite. NC7 was okay. There wasn't really anything exciting to stick my teeth into, you know? I have a hard time keeping the theorists straight and the laws and stuff. Delegation was pretty easy. Meh.
I agree with Apple. I was so worried about NC3, and it has been my favorite so far. I have NC5 and NC6 to go. Traci

NC6 was my favorite -- I was like, finally, some TRAUMA! LOL
I did mine in this order: NC1, NC2, NC3, NC4, NC7, NC5, NC6.
