QuoteNational Nurses Union President Deborah Burger released a scathing statement from a quarantined nurse criticizing the CDC for its purported refusal to test her for coronavirus even though she had been exposed to the pathogen.

Yes.
Americans must depend upon history and observation of well known despots for context. Unfortunately, too many Americans aren't very well read and don't really pay attention to global politics.

That is true. One reassuring thing is how much the current administration is openly criticized. Maybe not pleasant to listen to but certainly a sign of freedom. In a despotic regime the leader is never criticized. That would be tantamount to suicide.

But one will surely be fired from the west wing if they dare to contradict the Best and Greatest Narcissist to Have Ever Lived. The constant turnover and turmoil is exhausting and each round of advisors are less competent than the ones they are replacing. I'm not sure any decent person wants to put themselves in that position.

It only officially became a pandemic today. And he was criticized for the travel ban on China (racist!).
Please be specific about the actions that should have been taken but weren't. That will advance the conversation better.

So you don't think he should have taken action sooner? He's lied for weeks about the severity of coronavirus, even going so far as to call it a hoax. Travel to countries that were affected should have been banned weeks ago. He wanted to build a wall to keep Mexicans out (completely bigoted) but there's a virus on the loose killing people and he's perfectly fine with them coming and going.
It was a pandemic before Trump decided to say it today or WHO declared it. It was already on just about every continent and in several countries with thousands dead. Anybody following coronavirus news, especially in the medical field, knew this.
I don't know who criticized the travel ban to China as racist but this isn't about politics right now. Trump is incompetent and this wouldn't be a thing had he not fired all the people who would have contained this virus from the beginning. He's more worried about money than people actually being sick and dying.
This is the same idiot who just last week claimed there were only 15 cases in the country and now there are thousands and 10+ deaths. Even worse he put Pence in charge of this virus. He's not only nonmedical, his ignorance of medicine caused an HIV outbreak in his home state.
I didn't think any of this needed to be explained because it has been stated umpteen thousand times since the coronavirus became a main topic of discussion. There's many more points I just don't feel like going into them. Some of y'all want to politicize this topic when it's solid fact that this administration has failed the country and continue to do so with ignorance, arrogance, and political bullswanky!
Racism is such bigoted word. Xenophopia is a more acceptable and medically approved term for the affliction.
We all know that this has been a pandemic for quite some time and not dependent on being "officially" labeled as such.
Funny how the United Kingdom and his three golf resorts there were exempted from the travel ban
