Okay, I fully expect to be slammed for this. What do all these posts about gaming the system to get early results say about the character of some of the new grads/nurse candidates? One of the prime requisites of being a nurse is good judgement. Boasting about or encouraging fraudulent behavior by using inaccurate or inadequate credit card information to get test results hours or days quicker does not speak well of one's judgement and maturity. Is this what we accept from our colleagues?
It may be harsh but I think this is a matter of integrity. I understand impatience very well, I understand wanting to know if all the work of school paid off, what I don't understand is how easily one can ignore the lessons of integrity and professionalism.
If one can lie to a faceless testing company how one respond when faced with a potential life threatening situation that requires, patience, integrity, and maturity. It's a slippery slope, a little harmless deception here may reveal character issues that come to light when real harm may be caused.
So, slam me, flame me, whatever, or I hope some will agree with me.
I'm not making it personal. It's called a discussion. I'm interested in your POV. There's nothing wrong with asking questions. If it disturbs you so much, don't answer but then you lose the point of participating in a forum. You didn't seem to mind when I directly responded to your question about charting.
Its not about not answering a direct question. I'm not asking your personal views on the subject. Do you have to be gay to support marriage equality? Do you have to have an abortion if you support the right to choose? Do you have to be a women to support equal pay?
If if I say yes are you going to count my opinion as less valid, if I say no then more?

Ummmm no. I was just curious.
I admit to using the PVT when I was waiting...but this was back in the day before you had to provide credit card information--you just tried to schedule the test and if it wouldn't let you go to the CC screen, it was likely that you passed. If I had just taken the NCLEX today, I would not take the $200 gamble just to find out unofficially whether I passed.
I don't judge those for being impatient, because there's not a person on this earth who hasn't been impatient about something at least once in their life. Also, impatience also doesn't always equate to lack of good judgment in a person.
Now, using fraudulent CC info and/or intent...I can't say I'm as comfortable with that.
And another new thread with people advocating to use invalid cards for PVT. Someday, PVis going to catch on to this, and then there will be no PVT. People will have to wait for results the old-fashioned way.
Good. Then, no one's character will be called into question over something this trivial.
I agree with you because these people did nothing wrong. Waiting 48 hours for this Result is can be very frustrating. If people use other people's credit card without their permission, there you have a lack of integrity but if they use their old cc or one with insufficient funds where no one gets hurt, I don't see anything wrong with that. I am not against the person who wrote the quote bc everyone has his/her opinion. That's just mine.
