Published

Hi all,

Starting this thread before the Jan '22 cohort application opens up today (hopefully soon!) I have all the required documents ready to submit, patiently refreshing and hoping the link to apply pops up soon. Let's all connect and keep each other updated on our application process. Good luck to everyone! :)

Hi guys! I don’t see how to add references eeeek. It never gave me the option. Mine still says we are reviewing your application. I applied to L&D for tarzana and Burbank but I am open to pretty much anything L&D. I ange ER and ICU experience.

Are you being asked to provide references ?

No LOL but I see everyone else did ?

You might be getting it confused with letters of recommendation!

that is what I meant LOL. I am coming off 3 night shifts in a row and clearly can’t type.

anyone knows about the working environment for St Joe's OC and/or santa monica?

Good luck everyone...

If you are a cookie cutter, figs wearing yeti drinking nurse with no intuitiveness, you will excel. If you critically think and put patients before profits and pr opportunities, you will fail miserably with this company.

And if you are trying to live the good nurse life based on compensation, you will cry in your car biweekly, because the pay is insulting... About 10 bucks under Kaiser, Dignity... You'll get paid like you work for the county... LOL

Santa Monica is interesting because half the pt population is uber rich and the other half is indigent, with mismanaged mental health issues, compounding your ability to care for your pts.  Additionally, they used to suspend nurses for asking for N95s at the beginning of the pandemic and the staff calls the State, jcaho and other regulatory bodies on the facility, often.

But good luck to you if you want to work there... Management is constantly getting fired or reassigned.

I’ve heard from ppl who work at Kaiser & Dignity all over California - and I’ve heard from many ppl that regardless of the pay, they were not happy with those companies. Money is not everything to everyone.

I've also heard from many nurses who were not the cookie cutter that you described, who work with Providence and have nothing but good things to report and feel very supportive, and never complain about the pay because they love the environment so much. So, to each their own.

im sorry that it sounds like you had a bad experience with Providence. But I don’t think it’s fair to make such a unanimous opinion about a company, and who or won’t do well there. Especially right before ppl have their interviews with the company, and have been looking forward to them.

to those who have interviews ! Congrats, you should be looking forward to this regardless of what ppl tell you ! Getting an interview with Providence is an accomplishment, and this company has many positive aspects !

to those who may not have gotten an interview this time around, this doesn’t say anything about your self worth ! Keep pushing on, everyone receives rejections !

good luck everyone ❤️
