Cedars-Sinai New Grad Program Spring 2017

Hi! I was wondering if you could give any info abut how you actually searched for jobs at Cedars. Congrats on getting into the program and thanks for the good info I would like to end up in the ER but from what I understand, they do not hire into the ER. Any track you suggest to get there?

  3. Hi there... nobody has any information bummer lol
  4. Hello in advance to anyone who is wonderful enough to share their knowledge with me :) I am graduating this May 2017 and I am very interested in applying to the following Providence Hosptals: St. John, Tarzana, Burbank, and Mission Hills in Labor and Delivery. I had the pleasure of doing my l&d clinical rotation at Tarzana and while I also have been at UCLA, USC and other bigger hospitals... something about this hospital just felt like home. I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to the new grad program, their experiences... and yes, how much the starting salary is at these hospitals for new grads. Any and all information is welcome. I am also applying to Huntington Memorial because I have heard wonderful things about their new grad program. I look forward to this next chapter!

Mount St. Mary's Fall 2014 ADN

You won't take religion until you are in nursing program officially. You don't need to worry about that until you are done with pre nursing. Here are pre nursing courses : English 1a English 1b Speech Psychology Sociology Scientific concepts (chem and physics) Anatomy (fall) Anatomy lab Physiology (spring) Physiology lab Microbiology (fall or spring..Depending what trAck you are on this will be opposite of scientific concepts) Intro to college (only if you have fewer than I think 25 units before entering the school. I didn't have to take this so I am not sure exactly)

Mount St. Mary's Fall 2014 ADN

If you are part of BSN then the class is called scientific concepts and it is 1/2 chemistry and 1/2 physics in one. It tough but one of my favorite classes I have taken. I can give you recommendations for good teachers. You do not take religion as a freshman which is what you are considered your year of pre nursing. Another thing I should clarify is pre nursing can be done in one or 2 years. I did it in one but they let you do it in 2 and become a "5 year" (you will hear this term a lot once you are in) so keep that in mind. It is TOUGH to do it in 4. Especially since it involved 2 hard sciences + labs for each of those sciences each semester on top of your other classes. So that is 4 sciences per semester plus all other classes. It's possible... I did it but a lot of people opt to become 5 year to give them a better chance of getting in. Good luck and hope that helped!

  12. I have been accepted into the MSMC Pre-Nursing BSN Program as a transfer student (So excited!) and will be starting classes this August. After this year I will applying to get into their traditional BSN program next fall. I have searching all over for answers on how many student from the Pre-Nursing program get accepted into the program and have no luck finding concrete information. I do know that they take about 10-15 transfer students from outside schools but what about those who are already a part of the Pre-Nursning program. Thank you in advance for for the help answers! Also, If anyone on here will be in the BSN Pre-Nursing program with me this year at MSMC, congrats on being accepted. Feel free to connect with me so we know a fellow student :)

    Mount St. Mary's Pre-Nursing Question

Thank you so much for you response! Assuming I get in, I am definatly going to opt for the 1 year program and get my pre nursing out of the way. I am sitting on the edge of my seat with anticipation as they make you wait forever to find out the results. I know this is standard but I want to find out ALREADY!!! Again, I appreciate the advice and I will keep you posted.
  15. I have been lurking on this website for months now and love all of the information I have soaked in from it so I am hoping you can help me out with a few questions. I am trying to find out the proper way to apply for Mt. St. Mary's pre nursning program. I am going to the apply to BSN program once I have completed my Pre-Req. I have searched long and hard throughout whole website and I can only find info on applying for BSN or ADN program. I am able to find description of pre nursing program but that is it. I am hoping someone who has been through this process can shed some light for me. Do I just fill out the gerenal admission form as a first year freshman? This does not seem right aas this is a specific program geared for BSN program. This is so frustrating. Also, I was told that this program is held at the Chalan campus so I want to make sure I apply correctly. The general admissions form which I found (which does not seem correct) requires an essay. Is this the same for pre-nursing applicants? I weant to do everything correctly so any help would be much appreciated :) thank you so much in advance!
