  1. If your dream is to go into labor and delivery my advice is to follow that job offer. I worked ER for years and it was very hard to find a training program for l&d. But if you want this hospital because it’s close to family that is also important.
  2. I interviewed for tarzana but didn’t hear anything.
  3. I don’t know about New grad but I just got my offer for St. John’s. The same thing was requested of me before hand. Congrats!
  4. Hi everyone. I am looking into the best hospital for labor and delivery as an RN. I am currently working in LA and plan to move very soon to the OC. What are your experiences: the good, the bad, the ugly. things to consider: pay/ benefits/ culture any and all help appreciated ?
  5. Congrats to everyone so far. I applied to L&D at St John’s and tarzana and had interviews at both. I think the St. John’s went better. Are you applying as new grads or experienced nurses trying to get into a new department.
  6. Aw congrats! What hospital. What unit
  7. Has anyone heard anything yet?
  8. Same here. We had a few glitches because one of my interviewers didn’t show up so that has been a hassle trying to reschedule. Otherwise, the process has been seamless. I hope to hear back soon. What unit/ hospital did you apply to.
  9. Hi everyone. I’m curious how everyone is doing with the application process and if anyone has had any luck? Good luck!
  10. Thanks for the update. I just don’t want to miss the opportunity.
  11. I have been wondering the same thing! I keep checking. hmmmm
  12. that is what I meant LOL. I am coming off 3 night shifts in a row and clearly can’t type.
  13. Hi guys! I don’t see how to add references eeeek. It never gave me the option. Mine still says we are reviewing your application. I applied to L&D for tarzana and Burbank but I am open to pretty much anything L&D. I ange ER and ICU experience.
  14. Good luck to everyone interviewing! What departments did you choose out of curiosity?
  15. Hi everyone! I am a current ER nurse with both ER and ICU experience currently working in the Los Angeles area. I am trying to switch to L&D and eventually plan to become a CNM. Covid has really taken a toll on my passion for ER and I have decided to follow my dream of working with babies. I would love to hear about your experiences working as a CNM and the road to what sounds like the dream career. I think we want to have our forever home be in San Diego and plan our kiddo will be about 5 or 6 by the time we move (she is one now). I hope to be done with school then have about a year under my belt to land a good job. If any of you work in that area, where do you work and how difficult was it for you to land a job? How is the salary? I can’t wait to hear your stories.
  16. My application still says “we are reviewing your application”. No interview yet… ughhh. When did you hear back?
  17. Oh I think it will be more getting to you know and why you want l&d. For new grad it is just about being yourself and being able to sell yourself. Know about the hospital and unit you are applying to. Good luck!
  18. Oh are they still interviewing?
  19. Hi did anyone hear back yet
  20. I’m sweating and checking my phone like crazy. I still haven’t heard.
  21. Has anyone heard anything. They need to put me out of misery ?
  22. Not yet. I hope we hear soon.
  23. Mine still says the same thing. Fingers crossed.
