Published

Hi all,

Starting this thread before the Jan '22 cohort application opens up today (hopefully soon!) I have all the required documents ready to submit, patiently refreshing and hoping the link to apply pops up soon. Let's all connect and keep each other updated on our application process. Good luck to everyone! :)

Hello! This is a question to those that have undergone the application process and have accepted a position in the TIPS program... I am an experienced nurse, and about to submit an application for the next cohort that starts in May, and had some questions!

For the program broken up into classroom learning and working with a preceptor.. How many weeks is each portion? For the classroom learning, are the hours standard 9-5pm 5 days a week or 12 hours similar to nurse shifts?

After being assigned and working with a preceptor, are we guaranteed a position with the hospital? And is there a contractual length of time that is required to work with the hospital?

How long was the wait from submitting application to scheduling an interview?

Thanks in advance! And congratulations to those that have made it into the program! ?

Each unit varies. Right now we’ve had three weeks of in person/online training. The first week was online modules, the second week we had two in person skills trainings, and the third week we have a 3 day ECG course. We log 8 hours a day 5 days a week (some days we just do online modules). Some units have started their preceptor shifts during training, some are starting after the mandatory trainings. We have a weekly class for our unit (some last 10 weeks, some fewer) on top of the preceptor shifts (25 shifts) before we are on our own. No contract but they expect a year. Took maybe a month before interviews if I remember correctly? But if you’re an experienced nurse they do a fellowship instead of residency so you would be on a slightly different schedule as you don’t need some of the training. Hope this helped

Thank you so much!! I appreciate the feedback. Do you mind if I DM you for some more questions? Would love to pick your brain. ?

Once you accrue 15 posts (you have 10 so far), you will have access to the messaging used at allnurses.com.  ?   The number required is in place to discourage ppl from joining with ulterior motives, and then spamming (sales, etc) via Private Conversations.  Thank you for your understanding.
